from the Daily Camera we have:
Colorado Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff said Sunday proponents of the plan will turn in more than 120,000 signatures to the Secretary of State today, the deadline for petitions. The number of verified signatures needed to get on the ballot is 76,000.
And what’s a state political issue without Doug Bruce there to rain on the parade:
But Rep. Douglas Bruce, a Colorado Springs Republican who helped author the TABOR constitutional amendment in 1992, said the plan amounts to the largest tax increase in state history.
“They keep saying it’s for the children, it’s not for the children. It’s for the bureaucrats,” Bruce said. “It’s a pernicious, evil, dishonest rip-off.”
It looks like in November we’ll see if Doug is right.
