This Week In Marxism: The Men Are Taking Over

  •
  • by: Colorado Pols

We have been amused by “high-risk missionary” Victor Marx — the newest entry into the Republican field of candidates hoping to become Colorado’s next Governor — so much so that we were inspired to create a regular new feature on Colorado Pols. It’s been awhile since our last “This Week In Marxism,” but with the state’s most heavily-armed cleric heading for a strong finish at the Republican state assembly next month, this curious upstart running for governor with Lauren Boebert’s blessing is giving us lots to work with.

Like this fascinating quote from his speech at a CPAC event over the weekend, which we’re still trying to translate into normal person language:

Would anyone like to take a stab at interpreting exactly what this means? The simplest explanation is that it’s a straightforward misogynist shot at Marx’s principal opponent Sen. Barb Kirkmeyer, who alone among Republican gubernatorial candidates meets the pertinent gender-based criteria. Or it could be veiled criticism of resigning Colorado GOP Chair Brita Horn, who like Barb Kirkmeyer is…well, you know.

Ordinarily we would say it’s a bit risky for a candidate for governor to make a sweeping statement like this about voters who have been since the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment (and long before that in Colorado) an important segment of the electorate. But today’s Colorado Republican Party is, to put it mildly, anything but ordinary.

For good or ill, here’s another “Marxism” for the record:
