Ballot Return Numbers in Colorado Predictably Lower than 2020

The Colorado Secretary of State’s office released the latest ballot return numbers with 12 days left until Election Day.

Here’s how things look through Wednesday:

We’re not surprised to see that ballots are coming in at a slower pace than in the last Presidential election in 2020.

There is no statewide race in Colorado this cycle (other than President), which naturally reduces turnout. The 2024 ballot in Colorado is also ridiculously long; voters likely need more time to assess their positions on the 14 statewide ballot measures and other local initiatives.

In terms of party registration, 39% of returned ballots are from “Unaffiliated” voters; 31% are from Democrats; and 28% are from Republicans.
