Why Good Health Care in US is a Myth

  • by: PolitianWatch

We do not receive the best care or even the least harmful care.  What we receive when we have top of the line medical insurance is the most profitable treatments. There are examples abound of healthcare providers run amok because providers want to sell their science to the highest bidder. Surely everyone understands the rigged clinical trials of the pharmaceutical industry and the drug pushers they have become. But if you don’t have a good idea about this just review this website and you can read the shocking truth about the pharmaceutical industry.

And consider Lyme disease where recently the Attorney General of Connecticut investigation of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) revealed the 2006 guidelines panel members had widespread commercial conflicts of interests and had excluded peer-reviewed scientific evidence supporting chronic Lyme disease. The guidelines allow insurance companies to deny patients with chronic Lyme disease access to antibiotic therapy. Not only are chronic Lyme patients denied treatment but doctors who dare to treat chronic Lyme patients with long-term antibiotics are subjected to unprofessional conduct actions and the risk of losing their licenses.

This is also true for victims of mold exposure.  Mold exposure is not a rare event and yet children and adults who are chronically ill from mold exposure go from doctor to doctor only to be told it’s all in your head while their organs are failing and their respiratory problems lead to live long incapacitation.  Most PCPs don’t even know about illness from mold exposure and water damaged buildings let alone how to treat it. You might wonder why this would be if we know that mold has been around for millions of years and also studied as a bio-warfare weapon.  The answer is simple. Property insurers can be liable if they don’t clean up water damaged buildings so what they did was develop cozy ties to the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) who wrote a position paper on mold exposure stating that mold doesn’t cause illness.  Defense lawyers use this paper to win lawsuits against mold exposed victims.
