We got a release late yesterday from Sen. Michael Bennet, praising yesterday’s vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee in support of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. What’s cool about his release is that he appears to have issued a Spanish-language translation first; that’s what we saw first anyway.
Being a portion of the electorate that Bennet knows he must work hard to win over, we’d characterize this is a smart outreach move to the Latino community–even if it sends Tom Tancredo and Dave Schultheis into fresh hysterics. Release follows (English version too, don’t worry)–says Bennet, “Juez Sonia Sotomayor será una excelente adicción a la Corte Suprema.”

After leading DPS to a solid 50% dropout rate and pimping a corrupt ballot measure on behalf of the CEA, there is only one way you can really reward your Union Boss partners.
Please explain…
What more of an explanation do you need?
Whereas its off the radar screen for most people…
n/t
But it might be something Libertad created in his mind. It’s hard to differentiate between real and fantasy when it comes to Libertad.
Cue nonsensical Libertad response in 3… 2… 1…
is when your own activists don’t know what tax increases you supported.
Shit silly with cash and failed programs sold to the good people of Colorado.
forced arbitration and removal of the secret ballot … why does she hate for profit workers and their employers so much?
Don’t expect L-boy to make sense. Expect random talking points in no particular order and not bearing much if any relation to the matter being discussed.
L-boy could refer to “Laughing Boy”, who does occasionally make sense.
In the future please use the preferred nicknames of “Liberturd”, “Libertine”, or “Fibertad”.
I would never say anything like that about Laughing Boy and do usually call him LB. I guess I thought the context would be enough. But, just in case… I meant Libertad-turd-tard. LB, way on the other hand, is always smart, cogent and well reasoned even though I rarely agree with him on the issues.
politicians should do this more often
I do release as much as I can in the various major languages of Aurora. Korean, Chinese, Spanish right now and other languages as I find translators for those.
It makes sense to provide information in a form that is easy to read and open to mistakes of interpretation from English to any other language.
I never do expect to cover the more than 100 languages that are spoken in Aurora.
But I will try.
They could learn English.
I believe its been demonstrated in peer reviewed studies that a fluent command of English is a competitive advantage.
It would make things oh so much better. [/snark](Also, I’m sure the irony is not lost on you that your name is a spanish word. Just sayin’.)
and we only want those with a competitive advantage to vote.
I think we should re-institute literacy tests and poll taxes.
Why do you promote such hateful, hurtful and un-american policies?
Next you promote the need for new taxes to pay for mandated translation services.
are you serious liberturd? “As voting Americans, they have to learn english?”
I mean… what?!?!
So you really are completely clueless then? Completely? Intellectual imperialism, racism, facism… none of this rings a bell? You don’t see the connection?
Wow, just, wow.
I said…
you said…
You’re a regulate, spend and tax policy wonk. Why do you always default to taxation and mandates? You’re sick!
suffice to say that I never wrote “we should re-institute literacy tests and poll taxes” and I would bet all of my personal wealth (including my vital organs and first-born child) that Ralphie, who did write that, was being sarcastic.
And by implying that non-English speakers should learn English in order to take part in our political process. I was commenting on how sad, depressing, and shocking it is that you cannot understand the racist, imperialist, and fascist tones that that statement represents. That is not an overstatement, and it appears that you are simply too much of a dim-witted twit to recognize it.
I’m sorry, I really am, that you cannot face the actual meaning of your words, and that you cannot grasp the ideas that you foolishly (and probably unintentionally) represent.
Actually, I said that. It’s right there above my name.
You couldn’t pass a literacy test, because you obviously can’t read English.
Not to mention recognizing snark when you see it.
..to distinguish between “its” and “it’s”. Please surrender your passport and deregister to vote. Gracias!
