“As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy.”

Here is the real quote from MLK, which I mangled last week.
is a religious statement? What religion?
that had a clause saying “don’t keep holiday decorations up beyond the holiday season” or some such thing, she doesn’t have a leg to stand on.
There really has to be much more to this story, maybe the local Vail or Eagle County paper will cover it.
Maybe our own M. Ali Hasan has some insight? (I ask that because he lives up there and is engaged in the community)

I wonder what you reply to Twitty’s comment has to do with…well, anything. Fucking twit.
I found this Vail story to be a case of religion intersecting with the law.
Contrasting this, the Easter bunny story from Boulder was cute. We all know that the apartment owner (AIMCO aka staunch GOP Considine’s slumlord operation or a viable a legitimate Colorado based employer) was likely technically in the right with the leasee.
So, the Vail story seemed an opportunity to debate protecting workers rights v religion v at will employment v harassment.
p.s. Middle, that is what it has to do with Twitty’s 1st post …. and good luck troll cruising for the nonversations you usually participate in so deeply.
Where would any of us be without it? Fucking twit.
.
He’s swamped with a film project and might be there a while.
.
would care to opine on this Vail issue.
The EEOC came to the aid of a worker embroioled in a gender bias case against Vail and Associates.
Where are the Union Bosses, why aren’t they marching on Vail to demand safe and sustainable workplace environments?
What are the pertainent facts of this nearly $100k settlement?
As you ask
Do you know who supported the employee in her case?
Do you know who opposed her (other than Vail Resorts)?
Just wondering. Because if so, then enlighten us so we might, as liberal brothers and sisters, may opine. Rather than be like you, that is, and spout off without any knowledge of the particulars.
At least you’re totally inconsistent.
If the EEOC had decided on behalf of a union member, you’d be screaming your brains out.
A union member would expect her/his union boss to provide a work environment free of these issues, but if that happened then surely the union boss would have failed as the member would have been forced to resolve their dispute with the EEOC.
Honestly, I don’t know much about this case and haven’t heard much from other locals
Continues to be great source for up to the minute reports on Iran situation. Though crackdown has made large gatherings impossible, a national strike is being planned. British foreign ministry is evacuating staff. Various European embassies discussing plan to take in wounded demonstrators.

But, no, it’s “Oh well, let’s go shopping.”
Blood of patriots fertilizing the tree of liberty? More like fertilization by pissing on it.
Little old Iranian ladies in Burqas are making us look like a bunch of wussies.
.
If the Dictator in Iran would just broadcast better TV shows, and encourage the production of CrystalMeth, maybe his subjects (or are they citizens ?) would mellow out.
.
After all, the American Idol audience voted against the queer. Let’s see, what network is American Idol on? Fox? Oh, OK.
That was after months of voting for the queer … I think you’re imagining things. American Idol is propaganda for itself, that’s all.
At the end, when push came to shove…
Iran actually has an opposition leader who has stood up after the election on behalf of the people who voted for him.
Gore challenged the vote in Florida, but only in a half-assed way….ditto Kerry in Ohio…
The problem is that the democratic senators have adopted that kind of attitude right now…
No opinions about the budget shortfall and the impending cuts??
TABOR provides a simple process to get approval for any action to fatten the state coffers. It’s simple and direct.
