Campaign 101

  • by: jflerlage

Let me tell you something about campaign 101. A campaign is not just a candidate. A campaign is not just a candidate and staff. A campaign is not just a bank account. A campaign is a movement, a community of people who believe in something. A campaign is grassroots. It forces the resume-builders, elites and commentators to take notice and believe. If we have learned nothing else in the last few years, we have learned that much. Regardless of the outcome, I will be able to look every one of you in the eye and say, “I did everything I could.” What about you?

Many of us remember that real change started in the sixties. The progress we have made since then is truly amazing. But just as astounding are the setbacks we have suffered along the way. The work that many of us have put in over the last few years to bring change to our country is commendable. But if you think that change and progress are guaranteed, let me tell you otherwise. This fight will take many more years and there will be setbacks. This is a long term commitment. It requires optimism, perseverance and leadership. See you on the campaign trail.

    1. raise money.

so far you seem to be failing this intro class, and time between now and the midterm is going to fly by, so you better get on it.

Good luck, though, I do hope you’re successful.
