  1. Holtzman’s logo has changed again. I guess he’s been reading the posts on this site.  I wonder if his “conservative values” will change as quickly and easily as his logo.  Hmmmmmm

  2. I also noticed that the site’s said to come check back later this week for weeks now.  If you’re an announced candidate for governor, I think you need to have a site that’s more than just a logo, a coming soon message, and a link to donate.

  3. Maybe he is trying to get Bill Gates to design the website, or is trying to get a picture of him with George Foreman, Nancy Reagan and John Elway in the RV?

  4. Does anyone know Marc’s position on anything? Other than the fact that he opposes everything Bill Owen’s has ever done, obviously excluding his appointment of a Secretary of Technology.

I’ve checked out his website several times and there is nothing on it. Perhaps he is preparing his stnace on the top 200 issues. I doubt he’s contemplating robot butlers for everyone, but how about state subsidized breeding program for small dogs or lift shoes for the vertically challenged?

  5. 2 Points: is everyone here really so vain as to think that Marc is changing his logo just because some hacks on this sight were mocking it?

    2. Where’s Waldo, you lose a little credibility in your criticism when you spell the Governor’s name incorrectly.

Also before you call me a “Holtzman staffer” remember that I ripped this site for having MH favored over BB.

  6. Get over it. The site will come up I’m sure – and let’s refrain from passing judgement until we actually see it.

Also – I heard the real site will really be marcholtzman.com

  7. Zilk,

It isn’t like you keep your credibility when you say “sight” instead of “site.”  I usually don’t pick on people’s grammar but if you’re going to cast a stone, don’t live in a glass house.

  8. Still wondering when Beauprez will step down from Congress? I don’t think it is appropriate that he uses his Congressional record as Victories from Colorado. For instance, he was NEVER vocal about illegal immigration until he decided to run for Governor. HIs website lacks character as well.

  9. His position on Social Security and the Bush forum will kill him, too. Did everyone forget about the Denver Three? Because I haven’t.

Any chance we’ll see an explanation on his web site about that?

  10. Don’t forget he was handed EVERYTHING including a position on the powerful Ways and Means Committee. And this is who we want as our Governor?

  11. Also, I don’t know who I am supporting yet, but just trying to get the facts out there. Here is the difference between Beauprez and Holtzman. Beauprez doesn’t remember who you are from squat. Holtzman not only remembers you, but remembers your name. Beauprez could care less about the little guy…he looks around the room to see who looks like they have the most money and goes and talks to them while looking down on the little guy. Holtzman carries on a conversation with the little guy and everyone else in the room. Don’t believe me? Go to both of their gatherings and see for yourself!

  12. I just can’t get over the fact that in a district where he was the only republican to win certain districts, he’s still too scared to face the upcoming democrat attacks in cd7. Doesn’t he know republicans will fight for him to help guarantee the 7 stays republican? doesn’t he realize we won’t be able to keep the 3rd? on what planet does he think it’s ok to sacrifice congressional seats?

  13. it looks like a frantic email from MH HQ went out at 11:32AM…”we are under attack on ColPols, mobilize the counterattack….”  Good thing for MH he’s got the BB/SocialSecurity/thinkin braintrust at his disposal….

BB – MH remembers you alright.  that is, if you’re someone he would like a picture with to put in his office, or a card to put in his rolodex so he can call in a favor later.  Beauprez could care less about the little guy?  Beauprez has been a little guy most of his life.  I know you don’t know much about BB given your assessment of him; clearly you have an axe to grind as well.  Maybe a staffer of his backed over your dog on a parking lot somewhere.

Before you go challenging people to “go to both of their gatherings and see for yourself” you might want to REALLY consider how that would turn out for your candidate.

Although, from a height perspective, it’s definitely easier for MH to carry on conversations with little guys.  If that’s what you meant in your post, then my apologies, you’re absolutely right.

  14. BB

“Beauprez could care less about the little guy…” No pun intended, right? I’ve seen both of them at events and would contend the exact opposite. Of course, unlike you, I wasn’t touting my resume to both of them. Guess we know who took yours.

  15. Hobbs – on the planet where they understand math:

    1/50 = 2%
    1/435 = .23%

If you don’t want BB to run, at least don’t use the “for the good of the party” arguement.

  16. Shouldn’t MH staffers be focusing on the Baca, Crowley, Kiowa, Bent, and Prowers county RV stop-jamborees rather than retorting to criticism on here?

Just throwing those counties out there to remind MH folks that they are in CO not Kansas.  As a SE colorado voter, I’m anxious to see the big city kid step off the pimp-my-ride rv into the heat and dust of Walsh, Eads or Las Animas. Watch yer step tex, that ain’t mud…

  17. Hobbs,

Didn’t realize you were so popular that “everyone” knows where you work.  Must have missed the thread where you divulged that info.  But you are probably right. Being a DU student doesn’t technically mean you work for MH.  Word of advice though, you may want to reconsider taking a political disourse class (through in astronomy fo good measure) before spouting off.

  18. As I republican in the 7th I am SICK AND TIRED of MH supporters saying that we are going to lose the 7th.  That kind of crap is bad for republicans, and bad for our actual candidate in the 7th.

If you didn’t notice, O’Donnell did outraise everyone else and picked up a ton of endorsements.  In fact, both BB and MH gave to O’Donnell.  You all want to go after each other, fine.  It seems pretty clear to me that the decision has been made by both parties about running for Gov and that the MH crowd needs to just get over it and move on to other issues!

  19. Man, I wish this site was around when I was in 7th grade. You guys are hilarious. I could have had some pretty good material after reading your posts 🙂

  20. Give me a break! Beuprez cares nothing more than following his wife’s dream of taking the WHite House. This is no secret. As stated before, I am not sure who I am supporting, but the truth needs to be known. If Beauprez cared about Colorado, he would not give up his seat or if he REALLY cares about Colorado he would step down…allow a special election and be a man!

  21. that raises a good question… what are the rules if Beauprez resigns to run full time? Would it go right to a special election? or a vacancy committee? anyone know? (sorry – I’m new to the arena.)

  22. BB – Your whole line is about the dumbest thing I have ever heard.  So where were you when Scotty M decided to cash out, or Sen. Campbell?  Did you think they should have resigned to?  Did you think that they should have stayed put for the “good of Colorado?”

If I were MH, the last thing I would want is BB campaiging full time.  Now, if I were Paschall, well, getting BB to resign is probably the only change in H@#L I would have to make a run at the seat.

Lastly, you really think BB is doing this because his wife wants him to be President?!!?  That is too goofy for any real meaningful response.

  23. You’re absolutely right BB, “for the good of colorado”.  Because remaining in the 7th is a MUCH better way for him to help THE ENTIRE STATE than being governor.

Since I obviously can’t take anything for granted with you, let me be clear that i’m being SARCASTIC.

Keep ’em coming though, seriously, you are quickly becoming my most favorite poster on ColPols.

I can only hope you are in on the joke of you.  I shudder to think you’re for real.  In which case I would have to wonder, how did you figure out where the internet was, and how to find it?

  24. so does that mean it would go to a vacancy committee? they decide the nominee – and then a special election? is that how it would work?? then who’s the favored party republican in a vacancy – mark or rick?

  25. Rules, in the hypothetical situation where a Congressional seat becomes vacant more than so many days before an election, the Governor sets the date for a special election. But I wouldn’t hold your breath for a special election here. Beauprez is going to serve out his term because he was elected to do so and that’s just what he does.

  26. This comment has been removed by Colorado Pols. Unsubstantiated rumor-floating that is potentially damaging is not allowed in the comment section.

  27. Read back up through these posts – i love that BB opponents always resort to absolutely preposterous rumours (borderline slander imo) like “his wife wants the WH” and “he has an intern problem”, or completely illogical and undefendable arguements like “for the good of colorado” to justify him not running.

I would think it’s a little early to be this desperate but i guess not.

  28. personally – i prefer to point to those pesky votes he’s made over the years. Lot’s of evidence there that he has not been representing his district or, in some cases, even his state.

  29. That’s fair. Of course, it’s easy to say since no one else running for governor has ever held an office where they had to cast a vote…

  30. To all of the BB fans….is it or is it not true that Beauprez was handed everything to him since his race was so close four years ago? If you say No, you are more ignorant than I thought!
