  1. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/02/us/politics/health-care-paul-ryan-fred-upton-congress.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=first-column-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news

And then there is this little gem. If they throw $8 billion towards those with pre-existing conditions, then the so-called moderates will vote for the bill. The problem is the deficit hawks in the freedom carcass will take a walk.

      1. Definitely stay upwind of shill boy.  But as an extra precaution, get a gas mask from an Army surplus store.  He likes to sneak up on the unwary and rip out a full Trump.   And never, ever, get in an elevator with him.

  2. There's a perfectly acceptable solution to the controversy of Obama collecting a $400,000 speaking fee from Wall Street.

Assuming it won't put him in a breadline, give the speech, take the money, and donate it to a worthy charity or cause.

Trump is donating his presidential salary.  I believe Jack Kennedy did also.

    1. And the Obamas will be donating $2 million this year to Chicago nonprofits for summer employment. That sort of swamps the $400,000 for a speaking fee.

      1. AC, that pic is from Trump's $78K novelty check donation to the National Parks Service. It's definitely a "passive-aggressive" * donation, since his administration also wanted to gut the NPS budget by cutting the Interior Department's budget by 12%. However, in the budget deal, Democrats out-negotiated the Trump team, and won a $42 million increase for the D o I for this fiscal year. Neener neener.

        Slate notes:

In regard to the $78,000 donation, @markberman tweeted:

The check was for $78k, which could cover about one half-day of security at Trump Tower (when he's not there) https://t.co/sswqyPp5mk

*Definition of passive – aggressive: A cute dog gazes adoringly up at you, licking your hand – while peeing down your leg.

  3. Sigh, it can't be put off forever — I'm reading Shattered, the best account so far of how one of the most qualified candidates ever to seek the presidency lost to a narcissistic stumblebum.  Simply put, she had a lot of help from backstabbing mercenaries like Mook. But I also think that while she would have been a great president, she sucked as a candidate.   It is painful to review, but we have to do the autopsy to ensure the Stumblebum administration is banished in four years.

PP, you are smart enough, you might like this book, if only on the maxim "know thy enemy."

    1. "V"

I thought about buying it but haven't so far. If you can put aside the partisan labels of Democrats & Republicans. It didn't take much effort to see she was and continues to be totally corrupt regardless of the campaign. Trump may be also, but the difference is she is committed to power and money with little regard for the country. I believe Trump loves this country while Hillary views it as the place she lives.

The problem for the Democratic Party is that at least half of its base is far left  extremist. Those who support the likes of Bernie and Liz, who elected Tom Perez as DNC Chairman. Like most of the contributors on this site, Dame MJ, Duke, Blowman and the cheerleaders at ColoPols, who push the hysterical resistance effort, drive out traditional Democrat supporters. There is no center Democratic Party that will speak against the extremist left.

Republicans have some of the same issues, they are temporarily masked because of the win. Trump is not a Republican, he is independent and the establishment Republicans conceal their disdain and work against him as often as possible.

While you think Trump stinks, I think he is letting in fresh air.

      1. You just made my day. PeePee, associating me with MamaJ and Duke. Two fine Americans you could learn a thing or two from. In case you hadn't noticed,  the hysterical resistance movement has been and continues to be effective. For all your bloviating about the left and Hillary I'm fairly confident we could find a policy or two we might agree on over a Heineken.

      1. I assume you're talking about policies like universal health care, equal rights, non-Laffer economic policies?  Those extremist policies?
