    1. I would wonder if the anti-environment "poison pill" riders on some of the appropriations bills got deleted. Better check into that before giving the shout-out.

        1. Spring happens. Even in Colorado. Who knew?

Hey, librarian, let us know when you figure out the difference between weather and climate and the difference between global and local. Bonus points for figuring out the difference between evidence and ignorance.

          I won't be holding my breath…

          1. Hint:  Go to the card catalog and look up the subjects "Weather" and "Climate." Write down the Dewey Decimal numbers, and go look for the books. Then open the books and read them. You may sound the words out, if necessary.

    1. Allyncooper — if you think a 70,000 vote margin among 3 or 4 states shows "unity" among workers, I'd like you to consider buying a modest 10% share in Pikes Peak. I have it for sale at a reasonable price.

      1.  I'll sell you the polls that said Clinton was supposed to win those states. They are worth as much as your 10% share of Pikes Peak.

Wishful thinking or deep denial aside, the point I made in my OP is exactly why Trump is in the oval office and Hillary is hiking in the woods. Democratic strategists (at least the ones who still aren't in denial) readily confess this.

There's a difference between accepting what actually happened versus making excuses for what happened.

  1. This has to be a almost too big for our TweetleDumbs to swallow? Perhaps the guy who won't stop shut up about what a great negotiator he is actually isn't that great a negotiator?

Ladies and gentleman, the new budget agreement:

    1. There are explicit restrictions to block the border wall.
    2. Non-defense domestic spending will go up, despite the Trump team’s insistence he wouldn’t let that happen.
    3. Barack Obama’s cancer moonshot is generously funded.
    4. Trump fought to cut the Environmental Protection Agency by a third. The final deal trims its budget by just 1 percent, with no staff cuts.
    5. He didn’t defund Planned Parenthood.
    6. The president got less than half as much for the military as he said was necessary.
    7. Democrats say they forced Republicans to withdraw more than 160 riders.
    8. To keep negotiations moving, the White House already agreed last week to continue paying Obamacare subsidies.

    Tired of winning yet?

        1. Isn't "conversion therapy" still legal in Colorado, thanks to our alt-right state senate?

In the old days (i.e., before the mental health professionals said being gay is not an illness), treatment included showing photos of men having sex with men to gay men, then zapping their genitals with electric current to dissuade "impure thoughts."

I think the current conversion therapy is a little less perverted.

Maybe Cornhole, Moldy, or Pureed Prune could fill us in on how it works.

  2. Making America Drumpftastic, Again . . .

MANILA — President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines said on Monday that he might not accept President Trump’s invitation to visit the White House, because he was “tied up” with a busy schedule.

“I cannot make any definite promise,” Mr. Duterte said, adding, “I’m supposed to go to Russia; I’m also supposed to go to Israel.”

    http://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/01/world/asia/trump-philippines-duterte.html

    1. Probably has nothing at all to do with Trump. Since being elected, Rodrigo has proven himself to be an addle-brained dinglebunny. He has, however, concocted a unique way to deal with drug trafficking…….shoot first and ask questions later.

  3. That look.  When you realize the Cuban's have had a lung cancer vaccine for years. With high efficacy.  For $1/pop.

Cuba’s Had A Lung Cancer Vaccine For Years, And Now It’s Coming To The U.S.

2007 study of patients with stages IIIB and IV lung cancer, published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, confirmed the safety of the CimaVax and showed an increase in tumor-reducing antibody production in more than half of cases. It proved particularly effective for increased survival if the study participant was younger than 60.

So far, 5,000 patients worldwide have been treated with CimaVax, including 1,000 patients in Cuba. Lee said the latest Cuban study of 405 patients, which has not yet been published, confirms earlier findings about the safety and efficacy of the vaccine. What’s more, the shot is cheap — each costs the Cuban government just $1, Wired reported. Studies have found there are no significant side effects.
