1. NY Times notices the real fake news in America: lie-infested, hate-fueled, fear-inducing right-wing media that causes people like AC and gazillions of Trump voters to lose their minds.

   This is important. Republicans don't win office because their ideas are better. They reach office because the right-wing media scares and agitates white voters with anecdotes that substitute for data and half-truths (or outright lies) that substitute for reality. Some of this is what we now call "fake news," but much of it is a distortion of reality for propaganda effect.

   That's the stuff AC and his Putin Pals eat up.

   As Steve M. points out, it's 20 years too late. And it's also several layers of digging to go to reveal the full effect of the Hate Radio/Hate Media/Propaganda Machine built by right-wingers. (They could cover Michael Savage/Weiner's sociopathic screams from his p- lie-hole for the last 20 years as a public service.)

2. Regarding the highly unethical and anti-democratic theft of the Supreme Court: If God-fearing Republicans believe that God Himself slayed Scalia, don't they also think it would've been done for a greater purpose?

   And couldn't that purpose be to divine the motivations of those God-fearing citizens while allowing Satan to tempt them into betraying our Democracy?

   And, finally, wouldn't it be true that Republicans were overcome by temptation and acted against God's true plan of turning the court to the future, and instead succumbed to the Devil by subverting our democracy with their rash moves against the duly-elected president at the time of Scalia's (God ordained,hallelujah!) death?

         As I contemplate a universe in which this headline is possible, Curmie, I am becoming more and more convinced Satan exists.

         The mindless dipshit who calls himself  "Preposterous Putz" (or something similar) posted this comment in another thread…

         People who make this country work don't give a damn about what color you are or what bathroom you use. 

         But that is the "Big Lie".

         People like PeePee and the rest of his hateful camp care more about those issues than almost anything else. Their focus is on the ones their local Baptist preacher tells them are the unclean invaders who have stolen their jobs and turned them into ineffectual losers.

         They want to win again…and they think they are being treated unfairly because the "Christian Patriarchal Imperitave" no longer rules the world and Christian white men no longer dominate our culture. They cannot seem to grasp that the very same Preacher of the Gospel whose words they revere and believe unquestionably is also a wealthy corporate hack, whose interests lie more in his stock portfolio than the well being of humanity.

         The truth is, the multi-national corporations of the world (Exxon/Mobil, say) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have seen to it their futures have been stolen by the .01% of the population that runs Congress…and pretty much everything else.

         Anyone who believes that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have the best interests of the United States at heart and in mind also believes Phillip Morris, Inc. cares about your health.

This election has made clear what a lot of us have already known;  the right wing has always wanted an iron-fisted authoritarian in charge who would give dominance back to old, white Christian men, and to a lesser extent, their loyal followers.  And they're willing to give up any principle they claim to have in order to get it.

4. Murkowski and Collins to vote against DeVos confirmation.

   I'd suggest calling Gardner to do the same, but…

   Also wondering why I haven't seen any ads against Trump nominees featuring Gardner's name and a busy signal, but I'm sure liberal groups are just "keeping their powder dry" for some future election rather than slogging through the tough battles against the Trump agenda.
