  1. Why it's still important to vote for her……

    1.  Her opponent is unstable and unfit for the presidency.

    2.  His running mate is a homophobic religious fanatic. (This is relevant because I believe that Paul Ryan is waiting for the opportunity to impeach President Trump and install Pence as president.)

    3.  The Supreme Court.

    4.   The Republicans will probably keep the House, the Senate will be tied at 50/50, and a Trump win gives them a hold on all three branches of government.

    5.   Even if she's guilty of a criminal offense, she can be removed after taking office (a Republican House would have no reluctance in getting rid of her and if the evidence supports them, the Dems join in) and Tim Kaine would make a fine president who would probably name Elizabeth Warren as his VP.

    1. Oh! What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive"

Frank, why not cut to the chase and call for her to step aside for Tim Kane and save the Nation the agony of having to relive all of her and her staffs deceit?

      1. F.B.I. investigation has only just begun. Accusations are just accusations. Presumption of innocence. (There is that pesky Sixth Amendment although many in the Basket of Deplorables cannot read beyond the second clause of the Second Amendment.)

Besides, wouldn't Paul Ryan love another impeachment trial. After all, the last one in 1998 had such a happy ending. (At least we were able to get rid of Newt Gingrich.)

              1. Hillary is a woman of honor anddeep religious convictions.   Trump is a lying sociopath who claimed to read the bible,  citing "two corinthians. "   politico has found an astounding 53 percent of his claimms to be outright lies.  Politico found just 13 percent of hillarjy's claims to be untrue.

When Trump University victims sue the conman he claimed the judge was unfit to try the case because his parents were born in mexico.

                1. Uh….Hillary is a Methodist, you know, "our hearts our minds are open". Used to be on the administrative board of a Methodist church, got too kookie and away from scripture. It was an easy decision to leave. Hillary is an advocate and supports partial birth abortion. A heinous and barbaric crime against the most innocent. A modern day holocaust for which the Lord will have his say.

Hillary has taken many oaths to protect and defend the Constitution, parts she agrees with, the rest she would change and not defend.

As Secretary of State she is responsible for her employees and she let four of them die in Libya.

She has malice in her heart, you've heard it the deplorables, but uses the tag line Stronger Together. She has a private and a public policy position that is easily interchangeable depending on the audience. Her only core belief is to wield power as she see fit. A true tyrant.

Who you support is your decision, but recognize the reasons why. Maybe you agree with her policy or like that she is a woman or a Democrat, or was born in IL, or she's a senior citizen or what ever. What she is not, is a woman of honor or deep religious beliefs.

                  1. The GOP has denied funding for our  embassies. HRC was in no way remiss or at fault according to multiple reports. The GOP is responsible and they never attached any responsibility to Republican administrations under which more people in those situations died.

No pol has a perfect record on the true or false meter but Trump has broken all records for lying. HRC comes in about average.

The Bush Cheney State Dept. lied us into wars in which hundreds of thousand died and are still dying. Colin Powell helped them do it even though he knew what they had him pushing was garbage.

You're full of it, Pissy Pear.

                    1. At least you're not saying she is a woman of honor with strong religious convictions.

                    2. What I'm saying, unlike your false accusation discredited by numerous investigations, is the plain, simple, verifiable truth, Pissy Pear.

                  2. Yes, she is a methodist and a Christian who lives the words of Mathew 25: "Yea verily I say unto you, as you have done to these the least of my children, so you have done unto me:"

Her Clinton Foundation has by all objective  accounts raised millions to help the least of god's children, especially AIDS victims.  The Trump foundation, in contrast, is yet another tax-dodging scam, buying six-foot portraits of the screaming yam with contributor's money.

to blame Hillary for Benghazi simply shows you are yourself a lying sociopath, so twisted with hate you champion terrorists for their attacks on Americans.   You must still cry bitter tears at Bin Ladin's death.

I know a little bit about that, as a Vietnam era veteran.  Trump dodged the draft, lied about a "bone spur" and insulted our poWs because " I like men who didn't get captured.?"

Did you dodge the draft too, rich boy?  I'd bet on it.   You assholes never pay the price.   Yes, your hero is a sociopath, a chronic liar.   You still haven't answered:
Did he lie when he bragged about "grabbing women's pussies?"

Or did he lie when he said he lied about grabbing women's pussies?

Face it, you love trump because he hates the same people you hate, African Americans, Mexicans, union members, women.

There is only hate in your heart, hate for America and any American who doesn't look and think just like you. You dream of an America where your enemies are locked up, beaten up, deported, and bow down to your primitive bible rather than believing in reason, science, and such unavoidable facts as climate change.

I voted for Hillary because her belief in Mathew 25 trumps your faith in Breitbart news and the KuKluxKlan.  May her victory fill your heart with sorrow and anguish as you learn your hate has failed again.

                    1. Veteran are you? A great shame on you for using  your Veteran status to slander and demean those who may disagree with your point of view. Your comments are childish and demonstrate a lack of manners, but l sense it is your badge of honor.

                      U. S. ARMY 1969 – 1972 Vietnam (Forward Air Controller)

                  3. Hillary has lived by the words I did in the Army: Duty, honor, Country.  Does she sometimes fall short, of course.  But Duty, Honor Country has been the north star of her whole life and career, which has spanned more than 3 decades of public service.

In comparison, Pear of very little Brain, name one thing you ever did to serve this country:   And no, throwing black tenants out of their housing so you can raise the rents doesn't count.  Trump already claimed that.

                    1. so silent the blowhard pear is, when asked to cite just one thing he ever did to serve his country.  Still counting: one million, three hundred four misissippi, one million three hundred five mississippi…

                  4. Powerful Pear: multiple Republican-led congressional investigated Benghazi and found no evidence of wrong doing by Hillary. So, your statement "she let four of them die in Libya" is without substance and fact.

                  5. Your concern about "partial birth abortion" is an odd point of focus. Unless you are taking an absolute view on abortion such as the Catholic Church has done, there are good reasons both Constitutionally and theologically to allow for tolerance on this issue. Constitutionally, the limited number of abortions after the first 20 weeks are allowed to guard the life and health of the mother. Theologically, in Protestant traditions, abortion limits are a relatively new invention:  http://www.patheos.com/blogs/slacktivist/2012/02/18/the-biblical-view-thats-younger-than-the-happy-meal/

                    Clinton has said:

I am a Methodist, as you know. My church has struggled with this issue. In fact, you can look at the Methodist Book of Discipline and see the contradiction and the challenge of trying to sort that very profound question out.

But for me, it is also not only about a potential life; it is about the other lives involved. And, therefore, I have concluded, after great concern and searching my own mind and heart over many years, that our task should be in this pluralistic, diverse life of ours in this nation that individuals must be entrusted to make this profound decision, because the alternative would be such an intrusion of government authority that it would be very difficult to sustain in our kind of open society. And as some of you’ve heard me discuss before, I think abortion should remain legal, but it needs to be safe and rare.

                    1. Terminating a healthy baby, or for that mater an impaired baby at the point of birth is an "odd point of focus"?

The Methodist Church doesn't struggle with anything, if they can collect more offerings by catering to pop culture it's in. You're heard their commercials, "Our hearts our minds are open". I gave many thousands of dollars to the Methodist Church before I left. Lots of friends still go to a building, not me.

"Life and health of the mother", akin to the Monopoly, get out of jail free card. This type of legal language means that nothing previously written in legislation is of any consequence.

Maybe I'm too focused here. I'm going to amend my position to support abortion, partial birth abortion and a new classification, post birth abortion, after all how many kids drive their mothers crazy (mothers health issue), for Democrats.

                1. Everybody lies sometimes and especially politicians.   But in John Henry Faulk's lovely phrase, Donald Trump is the kind of man who will lie on credit when he could tell the truth for cash.

      2. Instead why don't we just ask Comey to resign.

Senior Justice Department officials warned the FBI that Director James B. Comey’s decision to notify Congress about renewing the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server was not consistent with long-standing practices of the department, according to officials familiar with the discussions.

The bureau told Justice Department officials that Comey intended to inform lawmakers of newly discovered emails. These officials told the FBI the department’s position “that we don’t comment on an ongoing investigation. And we don’t take steps that will be viewed as influencing an election,” said one Justice Department official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the high-level conversations.

“Director Comey understood our position. He heard it from Justice leadership,” the official said. “It was conveyed to the FBI, and Comey made an independent decision to alert the Hill. He is operating independently of the Justice Department. And he knows it.”

  2. Why it's still important to vote for her….

    1. Her opponent will not recognize the elite status of the establishment.

    2. His running mate is a man of principle and character and makes ours look silly.

    3. The Supreme Court.

    4. The Republicans keep control of the government and delay our march to one world government.

    5. She's guilty but that shouldn't matter because we care so much about who gets to use what bathroom. And climate change is the most dangerous thing we face, Al Gore told us so.

                    1. You didn't finish your sentence, but kudos for not misspelling any words. Now that I've identified you as a troll, what?

                    2. Well, we're not Redstate, Complete Colorado, or Peak Politics, so you won't be banned for disagreeing with the regular posters here. Assuming you don't try to out anybody. We really do believe in freedom of speech, unlike your usual Breitbart , Newsmax, and other rightie blog haunts.

Speaking just for myself, I understood that your mission here was to stir up trouble and undermine Democratic candidates with your first post. I don't know if you're paid, or, like Moderatus, feel some kind of sacred duty to try to persuade Teh Libz to the Right Side.

But, as long as you can tolerate the earned abuse, you're welcome to continue posting. I suspect we'll see your last post November 8, though, possibly the 9th, to cry foul and that Hillary's win was  "rigged!"

    1. Oh, please PeePee. Could you possibly get more outdated than that tired old… let's get hysterical over one world government thing? You really do need to update your fear mongering histrionics. So last century.

At least you're up to date on the "she's guilty" even though she hasn't been found guilty of anything, not even by Republican committees and a Republican FBI director. Entirely inaccurate but up to date.

Your praise of Pence, a wacko rightie radio host who wants laws to allow discrimination and mandatory funerals for miscarried embryos is hilarious. If it weren't for Trump he'd be the most outrageous one on the two tickets.

You're really not very good at this trolling stuff.

Has anyone ever seen you and modster in the same room?

    1. Very good, AC. You sounded just like Trump there…"bad judgement!" But you'll have to pare down even your limited vocabulary to get an exact match. Trump speak mainly stays at 4th grade level and never exceeds 5th. It's true. As they say…you could look it up. And don't forget it's "moran" not " moron" in proper Trumpian. Just in case you want to call anybody one.

Love your tabloid rag source, though. So colorful. And really big, too.laugh

    2. From former Labor Secretary Robert Reich's Twitter feed yesterday at 2:22 PM EST, after speaking with a high-level GOP muckety-muck:

REICH: What do you think of your party’s nominee for president?

CONGRESSMAN: Trump is a maniac. He’s a clear and present danger to America.

REICH: Have you said publicly that you won’t vote for him?

      CONGRESSMAN (sheepishly): No.

      REICH: Why not?

      CONGRESSMAN: I’m a coward.

      REICH: What do you mean?

CONGRESSMAN: I live in a state with a lot of Trump voters. Most Republican officials do.

REICH: But you’re a former official. You’re not running for Congress again. What are you afraid of?

CONGRESSMAN: I hate to admit it, but I’m afraid of them. Some of those Trumpistas are out of their fu*king minds.

REICH: You mean you’re afraid for your own physical safety?

CONGRESSMAN: All it takes is one of them, you know.

REICH: Wait a minute. Isn’t this how dictators and fascists have come to power in other nations? Respected leaders don’t dare take a stand.

CONGRESSMAN: At least I’m no Giuliani or Gingrich or Pence. I’m not a Trump enabler.

      REICH: I’ll give you that.

CONGRESSMAN: Let me tell you something. Most current and former Republican members of Congress are exactly like me. I talk with them. They think Trump is deplorable. And they think Giuliani and Gingrich are almost as bad. But they’re not gonna speak out. Some don’t want to end their political careers. Most don’t want to risk their lives. The Trump crowd is just too dangerous. Trump has whipped them up into a goddamn frenzy.

  3. Reluctant Hillary voter here. As Maddow said last night, this is a giant brick ( I think she wanted to say "turd") of supposition and innuendo, thrown into the pool of the election. We don't know what was in the email found on the laptop, although we do know it connected with the private server. We don't know if there was any compromise of security, although so far the intelligence agencies have indicated there was none. The Russian hackers hacked other emails from other servers.

So thanks, Mr. Comey. Now, in addition to cringing as more of Trump's victims come forward to tell their stories, we also get to wince at the Wiener-isms. Oh joy.

    1. On the other hand, here is an enthusiastic Trump voter — so much so that she voted for him twice!  As I've said, if you want to find concrete examples of voter fraud, look no further than at members of the Republican Party:

Police in Des Moines, Iowa, said Friday that they had arrested Terri Lynn Rote, 55, on suspicion of voting twice in the general election.

Rote, a registered Republican, allegedly submitted ballots at two different early-voting locations in Polk County, Iowa, according to local media reports. She has been charged with first-degree election misconduct, a felony.

“I wasn’t planning on doing it twice. It was a spur of the moment,” Rote told Iowa Public Radio. “The polls are rigged.” She said she feared her first vote for Trump would be changed to a vote for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

      http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/voter-fraud-donald-trump-iowa_us_5813e775e4b0390e69d075a4

As BC said the other day, there is no cure for stupid.

      1. And, as usual in these rare cases of actual attempted voter fraud, it didn't work. It was caught. And, as is also usual, it was a Republican.

But let's not forget to be on the look out for modster's bus loads of 'those" people who are going to be pulling up to polling places where they don't belong and allowed to fraudulently vote for Dems ("those" people always do) by the always matched sets of Republican and Democratic election officials. Matched sets even in "those" neighborhoods. Can't be too careful. 31 fraudulent votes out of a billion nationwide over four years or so is a risk we can't afford to take! Just think of how many elections must have been stolen! surprise

  4. My guess is Mr. Comey  is trying for a position on the trmup transition team.  But, the question is how many votes did he flip?  Most people are already set on who to vote for.  This is should not affect their votes.  Only the five percent who cannot figure out that the difference between HRC and the sexual predator might be affected.

      1. Powerless pair

(sorry about that impotence problem of yours.   The girls do talk about it, but I've asked them to cool it to spare you further embarrassment.)

Would you allow your wife or daughter to be alone with Donald Trump?

1-Do youthink he was lying when he bragged about "grabbing [women's] pussies?"

2-  Do you think was lying when he said he lied about grabbing women's pussies?

He had to be lying in one of the two statements .   Those are the rules of formal logic.

3-Do you think the 12 women who have accused Trump of groping them were lying?

Remember, they told friends and coworkers about this at the time– going back between 10 and 31 years?   These women are not just vicious, they can see the future and prepare a lie and share it with witness 30 years before Trump runs for president, just so they can embarrass him?

If you believe that, tell me who the Republican candidate for president will be in 2058, so I can invent a story and tell it to witnesses now so we can embarrass your candidate in 2058.

  5. Agree, Nasty Woman. To the extent there are any undecideds left, the rest of the nation has made up its mind and it doesn't favor Drumpf. The upside is we haven't heard about transgenders molesting our daughters in the public bathrooms for a while now (you know we'll get back to that at some point).

I had a great day yesterday with Allan Savory and his wife whose global headquarters are now in CO. Allan was born and raised in (then) Rhodesia     and as a young man was eventually elected into their Parliament during the reign of Ian Smith. As Smith marched down the road of apartheid and exterminating his political opposition (the blacks) Allan crossed the aisle, created a new opposition. party and brought the native Rhodesians together. Smith declared his action treasonous and sought to have him hung. Allan escaped, lived in the US in exile for some time and eventually returned to Zimbabwe once Smith lost power.

The Bulowao paper described the scenario as "Allan having the right message at the wrong time; Ian Smith having the wrong message at the right time."

And so it is today: a white nationalist who almost pulled it off with the wrong message. We'll get through the next 10 days, elect our first woman POTUS and enjoy the popular Bernie Sanders as head of the Senate Budget Committee. Advocates will keep the pressure on our new POTUS for real reforms – all while we watch a House of Representatives repeat the days of Speaker Gingrich and the Keystone Cops, ultimately losing their majority in the mid-terms.

They'll fail to understand the electorate once again and convince themselves they lost because they just weren't conservative enough.

Unfortunately, their darkest days are not yet behind them.  The rest of us? Instead of fretting about the future, we'll go out and 'build it'.

    1. Didn't know Savory's biography – he sounds like an authentic hero. I was glad to see that the Savory Institute has partnered with Heifer International, my go-to holiday gift source for my relatives who tell me not to buy them "stuff".

    2. Actually by granting cert in the transgender discrimination case yesterday, the Supreme Court has opened the door to all the nut cases filing amicus briefs setting out the parade of horrors if Caitlyn Jenner and Chaz Bono are permitted to pee or poop in the bathroom of the gender each identifies as belonging to.

But meanwhile, Donald Trump can cavalierly walk into a changing room for teenage girls at a pageant, and when questioned about it, shrug and say, "Nothing I haven't seen before."

    3. All well and good, but I still can't find much redeemable value in Savory's recent swindle(s). He's like a Rhodesian version of Trump. He sold ranchers on the idea of a free lunch in Zimbabwe with the result of failure after failure. (He has even admitted to not being surprised by all the failures, but I can't find that quote just now.)

Lately he's been marketing free lunches to ranchers of the American southwest. His high intensity grazing rotation schemes promise more beef production, more profits, all without any environmental costs. After people pay $10,000 or more for his workshops, and then fail to realize the promised dream, Savory blames them for not adhering to his program with sufficient rigor of an acolyte.

Forgive me for my skepticism, but all the science points to Savory's methods and marketing as being on the scale of Trumpian boasting. See for example:

Briske, et al. 2008. Rotational grazing on rangelands: reconciliation of perception and experimental evidence. Rangeland Ecology & Management 61(1):3-17.

Heifer International is great, but I hope they won't be taken in by his false promises and start promoting his schemes.

      1. LOL.  Let me guess? Vegan? PETA? Let’s start with Zimbabwe: I’ve been to his project there a dozen times. Please do enlighten me on the failures? I personally know several leaders of the 30 Savory Hub projects around the world. Great success stories. Check them out. Please, do enlighten me as to why a major US enviromental organization (in attendance yesterday) is moving towards his grazing methods if they are failed, as you assert?

        1. Michael,

Please, I really respect you, and I'm  long time contributor (just lost my password so had to revert to a different # of ardy). Also, I'm a life-long meat-eater, indeed my mother ate meat while she was carrying me. I'd be happy to share a smoked pork loin or brisket with you (ask Duke to introduce us).

Also, I've lived in southern Africa and dedicated a significant part of my life to studying grassland ecology, so I'm not some noob to the issues and I'm not getting my info 4th, 3rd, or even 2nd-handed. I truly wish Savory was right, but as a practicing scientist in the desert southwest, I know he's pushing snake oil.

Did you bother to read the paper I provided the link to? Savory does marketing quite well, I have to hand him that. And he sounds good in his TED talk. But he's trying to implement a grazing scheme that might be appropriate for Kansas or Nebraska (where there is plenty of rain and where the range evolved under the pressure of large herds of grazers). But the arid southwest is NOT that system. Savory doesn't understand the roles that biological soil crusts play in arid environments – he advocates trampling them. I'm sure he plays up his "great success stories." I'm sure they're the very best kinds of success. I'm sure he's endorsed by really important people. His "Free Lunches for All the Cows" is a really attractive claim. Do you see how he can be confused with Trump?

So, read the paper I provided above. Then come back and insult me as necessary.

          1. I'll jump in. For someone who "really respects" Michael, why compare Savory to Trump in your first paragraph? People can disagree on scientific matters, usually by being selective about which studies one reviews. But starting out with hyperbole and projection wins no arguments.

I am ignorant about farming, but I have made plenty of  decent compost heaps, even in Colorado's arid climate. One just has to periodically water and turn the heap, let the bugs and bacteria flourish. It seems to me that the same principle applies with having a herd of animals trample their own waste into the soil. That's my .02, for what it's worth.

            1. I followed Savory somewhat in the late 1990s and early 2000s when I was actively working on the grazing issue as one of my conservationist issues. He is controversial and it's never been clear to me if what he advocated for grasslands in southern Africa really fits into the desert lands of the American Southwest. Savory then was a proponent of the more grazing, the better for the land. Given the low amount of moisture here, that's a bit absurd. But I don't have time at this moment to check out the link; and I haven't actively worked grazing for at least 10 years. These days, it's far more important to me that conservationists work with responsible ranchers (which leaves out the Bundy crowd) to keep our federal public lands in our hands, and not going to the states, then to big money special interests.

          2. I've completed my homework assignment. First things, first. Any friend of Duke is a friend of mine. I made the comment about vegan/PETA because the vast majority of the attacks on Allan through me are from those camps.

I'm summarizing here, but it appears the conclusion of this group of scientists at this conference is that 87% of the time continuous grazing will perform as well as mob grazing. So if I'm standing in a project (in a brittle environment) where mob grazing has produced superior results am I to dismiss them, or reject intellectual curiosity as to why it worked? Granted, every agricultural region works better with more rain, not less, but I was recently involved in a research project in a brittle environment, with oversight by range scientists from the environ non-profit, and the results were conclusively in favor of mob grazing.

Your comparison of Allan to Trump was offensive, given that I took it as your meaning being 'negative'.  To the extent they are 'outsiders' I'll grant you that. But there the comparisons end. Allan has spent a lifetime in the range conservation community building experience.  Trump, a political noob, is seeking the political office of the most powerful person on Earth. The Bulowao editorial was referring to Allan’s rejection of Ian Smiths march to apartheid, not range management: a message of inclusiveness, the
            exact opposite of Trump.

Your dismissal of the Savory Hub success stories was also slightly beyond the pale. These are real people in real, rural communities attempting paradigm shifts at the community level. We should celebrate these achievements.

By your own admission you say Allan’s system might work in Colorado or Kansas (which by default means it would work on billions of acres of prairie worldwide). But you seem to reject Allan in toto so I’m curious if your resistance to my primary comments were that, or just arguments over the scientific conclusions on brittle areas like the desert southwest?

I understand Allan has his enemies. I have mine.  I've lost a couple of vegan friends over my refusal to disavow the role of animals in the ecosystem  I happen to have reached the conclusion (based on a lot of time with Allan) that his movement has merit. You've come to a different conclusion. On that we''all have to agree to disagree.

I'd like to go back to the study now and it's 87/13 conclusion.  Progressives in rural Colorado face this dynamic everyday.  Probably less than 13% thought Amendment 37 (renewable standard) was a good idea.  The fact that 87% thought we should continue to rely on coal didn't make them right   The same 87% in Yuma County thought secession  was a good idea.  Probably 87% of my Catholic parish reject many of the positions of Pope Francis and also believed the Republican presidential candidate was a better choice in '08, '12 and '16 even though we know the Trump ag policies would produce mayhem in the ag export market and that historically farmers fare better under a Democrat.  The same 87% reject Hick and embrace Brophy; they also rejected Amendment 64 (marijuana and industrial hemp)

I'll conclude that if my 25yrs of knowing Allan has taught me anything it was to question everything and don't be afraid to go against the grain.  We need to be fearless about supporting  new ideas and new ways; the old ways no longer serve us well.

I have a hunch we'd enjoy a conversation over coffee. We shouldn't let the 10% we disagree on keep us from engaging each other. Perhaps Duke can put us together for a talk show over this matter (and other things). We'd both be benefit from that kind of exchange.

Have a good (what's left of it) weekend.

    1. A Republican paper that endorsed What's an Aleppo Gary Johnson?

Back in the dark ages when I was a kid the Sun Times was respectable. It was the morning paper and the Daily News was the evening paper (yes a morning and evening paper. We got the Sun Times delivered and my dad brought the Daily News home at night) that Dems got. In those days in Chicago that included blue collar and pro-labor liberal white collar. The Trib was for what were referred to in those days as WASPs. It was never allowed in the home of anyone I was related to or knew. Now sadly it's the only reputable major paper in Chicago. Still Republican.

  6. Another Republican that President Obama tried to work with has stabbed him in the back:

    jon Huntsman

    Judd Gregg

    James Comey.

So much for a team of rivals.

    1. I always thought Huntsman, Jr. was something of an odd duck. Now we owe a debt of gratitude to Huntsman, Sr. who told Harry Reid four years ago that delightful tale about Mittens not paying income taxes.

Who would have thought that Mitt Romney would appear to be a generous and humble public servant standing next to the 2016 GOP presidential nominee.

  7. Oh vapors!

I have an email server on my home computer. Should I worry about legal action? Fortunately, it's a Mac, so it's secure. I also have an email server where I host my website, and I use Google's email service. I mean, there is this thing called the Internet, and email goes from place to place across many servers.

So I'm having a hard time figuring out what all the brew-ha-ha is. Wasn't it standard operating practice for Secretary of State to maintain an in-house email server? Maybe Clinton was using a Microsoft PC, which would clearly be a mistake, but I don't think that is actually illegal.

IOKIYAR, and all that, but unfortunately, Clinton is a Democrat, and worse she's a Clinton so special rules seem to apply.

  8. Powerful Pear asked:  "what did she do to save them?"   Irrelevant question, but you can feel free to read all of the hearing transcripts.

    1. So leadership is about being found not to have done anything wrong? Not quite Comander and Chief qualities. The question is not irrelevant to four Americans and their families. The military men and women are in jeopardy if this woman is elected. She is a war hawk who will sacrifice our warriors if it fits her political agenda.

        1. Maybe s/he needs a mentor. Where is Andrew Carnegie when he has a pupil to mentor?

By the way, Prickly Pear, the term is:  "Commander in Chief," not "Comander and Chief."

  9. Goddamn shameless, lying, cheating, dissembling, racist GOP sons of bitches just never give up trying to cheat and defraud people out of their RIGHT to vote! From Texas:

“Almost immediately upon arriving and getting in line,” he says, “one of the poll workers started kind of intercepting the people walking out of the parking lot yelling, ‘You have to have a valid photo ID to vote today.’ And she continued, probably for the next half hour, her and one other lady would walk up and down the line, and they would yell that same information.”

Williams says several people in line protested, calling attention to the recent court ruling. They even pointed out the language on posters in the polling station explaining the new rules. Williams says the poll workers ignored them. “If I hadn’t had a valid ID, I would have walked away thinking I could not vote.”

    http://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/news/2016/10/27/175203/confusion-over-voter-id-spreads-as-early-voting-continues/

    1. Seems like the "valid photo ID" lines are grist for the mill to extend the judgment on RNC (and potentially state GOP organizations) violating voting rights.

At the very least, video of this sort of thing should be sufficient to ban those "poll workers" from any official position and potentially from any presence at voting locations.

      1. It will also probably boost turnout. "You're gonna tell me that I can't vote?….Watch me." At least, it worked that way in '08 and '12.

HRC has had a robust campaign operation in Texas since February, and is also now making big ad buys in that market. Trump is ahead of HRC by only 3 points in the polls for Texas, and there is a remarkable lack of Republican enthusiasm, according to the head of the Texas Politics project.

Ted Cruz isn't really helping Trump with his dire warnings about "mandated sex change operations" if Hillary wins. Outside of the true believer base, it undermines his candidate's credibility.

        1. "mandated sex change operations"

OMG, they won't be optional, limited to those who want them?

Then again for Ted Cruz' base, this is the next logical (?) step after the Obamacare death panels.

          1. I know several people who would ask, "where do I sign up?". Then again, if it's a package deal with Cruz, they may not have many takers even from that crowd.

  10. Doubts About the Promised Bounty of Genetically Modified Crops

The controversy over genetically modified crops has long focused on largely unsubstantiated fears that they are unsafe to eat.

But an extensive examination by The New York Times indicates that the debate has missed a more basic problem — genetic modification in the United States and Canada has not accelerated increases in crop yields or led to an overall reduction in the use of chemical pesticides.

The promise of genetic modification was twofold: By making crops immune to the effects of weedkillers and inherently resistant to many pests, they would grow so robustly that they would become indispensable to feeding the world’s growing population, while also requiring fewer applications of sprayed pesticides.

    1. 87% of Yuma County farmers (and 100% of the Monsanto lobbyists) addicted to the federal farm program and its safety nets  transfer of wealth from the many to the few reject this conclusion 😉

  11. Note to MichaelBowman: The Sunday Post has a nice interview with The Red-haired Stranger from Ricardo Baca (The Cannabist) on the front page of the entertainment section. I didn't want it to be my fault if you missed it.

    1. Thanks for the encouragement. No I'm not paid. Actually I'm not doing as well as our friend minimum wage Melissa. My wife keeps nagging/encouraging me to get a job that makes some money. Problem is I have 6 employees who depend on me to support their families.

Fortunately i don't require "safe spaces", Nothing said in these posts have diminished my self confidence, and don't mind those who have tried. I have not used any profanity in making my points. The freedom of anonymity lets people be who they really want to be. I learned 46 years ago to not write anything that you would want read by your Pastor. Now I am guilty of sarcasm, but that's fair on this site.

Win or lose on the 8th, I'll continue on.
