  1. while we're all making fun of how astoundingly idiotic Republicans are (that is, those Official/Professional Republicans who've given us the most horrible candidate for president in the history of the Republic), let's not lose sight of the Fact that Democratic policies are good for our citizens, foster true small-D democracy, and are also good politics:

Wells Fargo & Co’s veteran chairman and chief executive officer, John Stumpf abruptly departed on Wednesday bowing to pressure over its sales tactics that has damaged the bank’s reputation and put Wall Street under renewed scrutiny.

Stumpf’s fall from grace started with a $185 million regulatory settlement between the bank, regulatory authorities at the Consumer Protection Financial Bureau (CFPB) and a Los Angeles prosecutor over its staff opening as many as 2 Million accounts without customers’ knowledge.

Stumpf was summoned before the U.S. Senate and faced calls for his resignation after repeatedly deferring responsibility to low level workers and decision-making authority to his board of directors. Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren called him a “gutless leader” who “should be criminally investigated.”

If Democrats, or even Republicans (or even Libertarians fergawdsake!-ed.) took the time to lay out the facts of this case to voters, I don't think there would be any doubt about the need for regulatory oversight, the idea that there are some things only the federal government can do, that bigger and bigger monopolies are bad for our economy and bad for customers, that runaway capitalism is killing the middle class, or that white collar crime should be prosecuted and its perpetrators thrown in jail.

This would show everyone, even Trump voters who know the system is rigged, that maybe it isn't rigged for wealthy CEO's and Bankers anymore. They might even see how Democrats are the ones who can unrig it, and that Trump is one of those who's benefited from said rigging.

But Democrats need more than just Warren, Sherrod Brown, and Harry Reid highlighting these facts for voters. Amiright, Alva and Jason?

  2. Did the Donald Lie During the Last Debate?

The N.Y. Times is reporting today on two women who have gone on the record as reporting that Trump physically assaulted them. One woman was flying coach back in the '70's, was offered an empty first class seat which accepted. Herr Drumpf was in the seat next to her. He lifted the arm rest, slid over to her, and groped her. She asked to return to coach.

The other was a woman who worked in Trump Tower and happened to meet him where he forcibly kissed her back in 2005. (The same year he was engaging in his now infamous locker room banter.)

I suspect we have not heard the last of this. Meanwhile, Trump is entrusting any remaining chance of wining this election to Vladimir Putin, WikiLeaks, and Julian Assange (a man who coincidentally is under investigation for – you guessed it – sexual assault).

Will Daryl Glenn be repudiating (refudiating, for those of you who are fluent in Palin-speak) his most recent endorsement of Trump? Does this vindicate Paul Ryan and John McCain's decision to cut loss from this loser?  And how long before Moderatus and Andrew Carnegie grace us with their presence by appearing and screaming "Benghazi" or "Bill Clinton is worse?"

    1. So if you endorsed Trump, then un-endorsed him after the video, the re-endorsed him, can you un-endorse him again?

      Asking for a political party.

        1. I thought the frequency was inversely proportional to the square of the number of assault victims who stepped forward in the previous newscycle (the so-called Cosby Coefficient).

  3. What the hell is he doing?

    1. "Remember to get your tickets to join Donald J. Trump and team in Grand Junction, CO, Tuesday, October 18th at 3:00 PM for a rally!"

We have 9 electoral votes and Florida has 29.
Crooked Hillary is ahead by 7 points and has never been behind.
Greater GJ has a population of 145K.

    2. “Donald Trump’s withdrawal from Virginia may mean a wave election is on the horizon”
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/all-opinions-are-local/wp/2016/10/13/donald-trumps-withdrawal-from-virginia-may-mean-a-wave-election-is-on-the-horizon/

WSJ – “Trump is now operating in four primary battlegrounds: Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania.”
PA? Where he is down by 7 and has never lead.

          1. Not only is Little Trump's cartography skills a little off but there is now a site called #RepealThe19th which boasts that the 19th Amendment is the only thing standing between us and a president who will make us great again.

  4. Just happened to catch Michelle Obama's speech today. The woman is magnificent. There's absolutely no one on the political scene today who can hold a candle to her as an inspiring speaker. She puts her husband in the shade and he's no slouch. Her most passionate heartfelt speech yet.

She was exhorting women in new Hampshire but really all Americans, to get out and vote to elect HRC, especially in the aftermath of Trump's sickening remarks and the avalanche of evidence, including his own admissions, that they were far more than just remarks.

Michelle Obama won't say it and HRC felt she had to apologize for it but, yes… anyone who can still vote for this vulgar, ugly, petty, misogynist, bigoted, racist, hate and fear mongering bully who presents a clear existential threat to the continued existence of the United States of America with his promises to jail his opponent if he wins, to punish all in the media and on the bench who criticize or take action against him, absolutely belongs in the deplorable basket.

Not half. All. Those not deplorable for sharing his views or tolerating them are deplorable in the utter ignorance that is a decent person's only possible excuse.
