Michael Bennet Sighting

  • by: MileHighDaredevil

Our new Senator, Michael Bennet, was not in Washington today. He attended the Arapahoe Democratic Reorganization Meeting at Cherry Creek High School.

Why wasn’t he in DC listening to the important debate on the stimulus bill? He said that his daughter told him he must come home.

Aside: Maybe this was OK, maybe not. All I know was that his votes are OK by me and that he looks like he is about 25 years old. This was my first time to ever see him or hear him speak.

  1. For those who don’t know about Dems and reorganization; each county holds elections for all levels of county politics every two years.  From the county chair, elected Mike Hamrick this year, to other levels;the central and executive committees; the congressional districts; the judicial district; the senate districts (I was elected chair of SD 29 Committee) and the House districts.

The next re-org will be state level in March.

It was good to see Gov. Ritter, Cary Kennedy, Andrew Romanoff, Rep. Perlmutter (Coffman is an R and for some reason did not appear to talk to us).  Two candidates for CD 6, one represented by Bill Winter and the other John Flerlage.

Senator Bennet came by shortly after returning from the Capitol and going to the JeffCo re-org.  He said he was on the floor until 1:30am.

State reps and senators were there, along with RTD, Regents and county elected.

We had a good time meeting and talking.

We are now ready to keep our Progressive lead and increase our number of elected officials at all levels of government.

    1. So he might as well be here campaigning.

Good start for the new senator. Don’t read the bill. Don’t vote against Pelosi pork.

Just be a bad Dem and vote yeah.
