   Bill Clinton calls Obamacare 'the craziest thing in the world'

   Bill Clinton criticized President Barack Obama's signature policy reform while on the stump for his wife, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, calling Obamacare "the craziest thing in the world."

   Speaking Monday at a Democratic rally in Flint, Michigan, the former president ripped into the Affordable Care Act for flooding the health care insurance market and causing premiums to rise for middle-class Americans who do not qualify for subsidies.

   1. Anecdotal evidence with sample size of one.
      As self-employed people, we noticed 2 aspects of Obamacare:
      1. Price about the same as before.
      2. Cannot be rejected by insurance company.

      1. As someone who doesn't understand how the private health care insurance I use works and affects the market, I also don't understand Obamacare.

         1. I think it's more along the lines of it's exactly what he said, but not what he meant.

            But the people that are getting killed in this deal are small businesspeople and individuals who make just a little too much to get any of these subsidies. Why? Because they’re not organized, they don’t have any bargaining power with insurance companies, and they’re getting whacked. So you’ve got this crazy system where all of a sudden, 25 million more people have health care and then the people that are out there busting it ― sometimes 60 hours a week ― wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half. It’s the craziest thing in the world so here’s the simplest thing ― you raise your hands, you think about it ― here’s the simplest thing: figure out an affordable rate and let people use that ― something that won’t undermine your quality of life, won’t interfere with your ability to make expenses, won’t interfere with your ability to save money for your kid’s college education. And let people buy in to Medicare or Medicaid

            He also may have accidentally expanded on HRC's actual Meidcare-for-some plan.  If I remember right, Hillary was offering an in on Medicare for folks 55+, not anyone who doesn't get a subsidy for the exchanges.

            It doesn’t make any sense. The insurance model doesn’t work here; it’s not like life insurance, it’s not like casualties, it’s not like predicting flooding. It doesn’t work. So Hillary believes we should simply let people who are above the line for getting these subsidies have access to affordable entry into the Medicare and Medicaid programs. They’ll all be covered, it will not hurt the program, we will not lose a lot of money. And we ought to do it.

            I think Obama’s spokesman said it best.

            When asked whether the former president went too far in his criticism against the ACA, Earnest responded he’s “not sure what argument (Clinton) was making.”

            And when asked if he wished Clinton hadn’t used “crazy” or “craziest” to describe Obamacare, Earnest said, “Of course.”

            1.  Also Bill really has never gotten over Obama spoiling 2008 for the Clintons and replacing him as the first black President. Maybe not so much not what he meant as another (not so) passive/aggressive bubbling up of that still hot Obama resentment seething right beneath the surface.

               HRC may have gotten over it enough to have a cordial relationship with the guy who stole her (by Clinton lights) rightful place back in 2008 but Bill has never managed a very credible pretense of "cordial" himself.

               Of course HRC really, badly needs to get out that Obama vote for herself this time around, she knows it and both Obama's are doing their very best job of that for her with their best being pretty great, much better than anything Bill can do for her anymore (he's so last century these days) so…… she might want to consider smacking Bill upside the head once in while this time around….. and short, short, short leash.

2. This is rich. Lecturing Republicans on taking on 'protected government monopolies' like …. an energy company!  As if. I'd like some of what Wayne is smoking. 

   PS: Wayne, Pueblo had a window of opportunity to take their power grid and assets back before it was sold to Black Hills. They punted.  Perhaps you've forgotten the game played by Xcel, cancelling their wholesale contract to Pueblo late in the game (even though they had excess generation capacity) forcing Black Hills to build the gas plants at the airport?  All points you've conveniently left out of your opinion piece
