If your not with us (stupid partisans) you're against us (and you just don't care)

It’s amazing how the game of classifying (please insert Tom Daschle approved tactic on how to expand public healthcare without wide-ranging debate by the American People) dissent is played…  I quote from Jeff Bridges

Are Republicans really that out of touch with the new post-partisan world?

Is it really a good idea to stamp out other ideas/voices by using marginalization tactics?

  1. Do you have any clue what you’re talking about? Daschle hasn’t even been confirmed as Sec. of Health and you believe he’s limiting the debate on health care reform? Wow, you’re dumb.

    1. In the fascist states of Italy, Germany and Russia, critics and supposed critics were shot.

In FDR’s administration, a fascist-loving appointee notoriously threatened to punch out FDR’s opponents. That didn’t go over well, so FDR calmed things down.

Since early in his campaign, President Obama has tried to silence his critics. At one point, he notoriously urged his supporters to confront and shout down his opponents.

Obama’s demand for bi-partisanship is all about marginalizing those who don’t like his policies.

On this blog, people try to shut up critics with nonsensical, juvenile put downs and name calling.

Already, there is a backlash in Washington. Republicans aren”t lying down and taking Obama’s silliness. And on this site, a few of us continue to post about our policy concerns in the face of attacks by a few small people.

If you don’t like a point of view, take it on with some good arguments.

      You are what you post.

  2. This is why the Republican Party has failed.

Campbell Brown, the anchor of the CNN program “No Bias, No Bull,” has challenged conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh to come onto her show and debate the merits of the stimulus package. CNN’s chief business correspondent Ali Velshi had criticized Limbaugh’s stimulus suggestions, offered on the op-ed page of the Wall Street Journal, and Limbaugh fired back at Velshi on his radio show yesterday, calling Velshi “incompetent.”

Campbell had Velshi on her show last night to address Limbaugh’s criticisms in a lengthy rebuttal. She then invited Limbaugh to come and debate the stimulus package with Velshi, instead of just lobbying personal attacks on his radio program. We’ll see if Rush accepts the challenge.

You’re being led by an asshole.

    1. .

      Dems are post-partisan,

and its the GOP that’s doing all the partisan bickering and dirty tricks ?

Do you really believe that ?

From reading this site, I have plenty of evidence that’s false.

      ….

      as for that other thing,

I am not qualified to speak for Republicans,

but as a conservative I repudiate Rush Limbaugh.

In my simplistic view, the teachings of Jesus are at the root of conservatism,

      (lots of conservatives would disagree,)

and Rush rejects those teachings, somewhat.

      .

      .

      1. NO, I do not.

However, that’s not the point of this argument. What the Rethugs (yes, I’ll call them that until they act appropriately) are doing isn’t just partisanship, it’s posturing for re-election. They don’t give a shit about the policy, the benefits or problems, but only their themselves and their party.

        It’s disgusting.

    2. Limbaugh is a jerk, but he’s correct when he calls Velshi “incompetent.”

I haven’t listened to Rush for weeks, but I’ve caught a few of Velshi’s reports, which are little more than PR pieces for Pelosi’s latest pork barrel bill.

If there is a debate, Rush will crush the kid. Ali’s ok but not great at reading scripts. I suspect the kid is no match for Rush.

      Few are.

      1. Limbaugh is a mental midget. He’s chalk full of insults, zingers, talking points but no real facts, no substantive information to persuade anyone outside of his ditto head crowd. He’s a preacher singing to his choir who to most thinking Americans sounds a lot like James Dobson (metaphorically speaking); a lunatic.
