Mike Coffman-Morgan Carroll debates yet to take shape in 6th Congressional District

The campaign for incumbent Republican Mike Coffman has signaled to various debate organizers that he’s eager to set dates. His challenger, state Sen. Morgan Carroll of Aurora, is still trying to “hammer out details,” but Coffman hasn’t returned their messages, said Drew Godinich, Carroll’s campaign spokesman.

Godinich said Carroll wants to do three debates but hasn’t yet made a final decision on which ones. Carroll’s campaign declined an invitation to participate in a debate put on by The Denver Post.

  1. 2011 Ohio law made abortions riskier, more costly

After Ohio enacted a law forcing abortion providers to prescribe an outdated drug regimen, women who received medication abortions there were more likely to experience complications and higher prices, a study shows.

"That’s what happens when laws aren’t based on scientific evidence," said lead researcher Ushma Upadhyay, of the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health at the University of California, San Francisco.

    "But it's for women's safety."

Will Republicans ever join the reality based community?
