Paul Ryan is in the Denver Area if You Can Find Him

From Mike Coffman’s campaign Facebook page (Aug. 24, 2016)

House Speaker Paul Ryan was in Wyoming this week for a big meeting of major Republican donors and associated advisors. Today, Ryan is in Colorado helping Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Aurora) to raise money at a super-secret luncheon of some sort.

We can’t tell you much more about where Ryan is stumping with Coffman, or for how long, because Coffman’s own campaign won’t really talk about it. Check out the weird statement that showed up this morning on Coffman’s campaign Facebook page, in which Democrat Nancy Pelosi’s name is mentioned four times before Ryan’s name comes up.

“We can’t take anything for granted and we’re honored to have Speaker Ryan in Colorado today,” says Coffman spokesperson Cinamon Watson.

Anyhoo…so, the Speaker of the House is in Colorado today, and nobody wants to talk about it.

Nancy Pelosi!!!

  1. Meh, not really odd to keep the locations of these things a secret. Trackers follow candidates trying to get statements or bad photography/videography, and you can get some odd characters if you publicly advertise addresses too.

That being said, Ryan is scum, Coffman is the scum that grows beneath the dirt that the original scum is sitting on, and they're both members of the party of Trump, which as far as I'm concerned makes them associates to treason.

Nancy Pelosi is a nice ol' lady and doesn't deserve 99% of the flak that they send her.

    1. "Nice old lady" my ass. She was an extremely effective Speaker. Even managed to get public option passed in the House.  Neither Boehner nor Ryan have any accomplishments in their roles as Speaker to hold a candle to those of that "nice old lady" who didn't get to be the first woman in US history to attain that position by being married to or the daughter of any powerful political figure BTW.

      1. Nice old lady and extremely effective speaker.

I'm not sure they're mutually exclusive. I think she was both. And you're right about putting her track record up against that of her two successors. And let's not even begin to compare her to her immediate predecessor.

        1. We really should call the Affordable Care Act Pelosicare.  More than any other petson, her dedication and courage passed this landmark law.  She is a nice old lady in the sense that Pope Francis is a nice old priest.  She ranks abo v e even hillary on the list of political leaders I respect.

          1. Agreed, V.  The venom she receives from the neo-cons in our neck of the woods is so troubling.  Her pro-choice position aside (she voted against the 2002 Iraq War Resolution.  What could be more pro-life than that?)  she's be a conservative's dream: Catholic, married for over 50 yrs to the same man, a stay-at-home mom until the youngest of her five children was a year from being out of high school?  Touting her at the local cafe in Wray makes me about as popular as a floating you-know-what in the Christmas punch bowl.

        2. "nice" is fine and "old" is a number but put them together and it's a condescending label. I'm pretty nice and pretty old and I get to call myself a little old Jewish lady. I wouldn't advise anyone else to call me a nice old lady and when servers, clerks and nurses call my seniors "honey" and "sweetie" and such I want to punch them in the face. Lucky for them I restrain myself. I still work out.

As I said… nice old lady my ass.
