We are getting reports that some users are having trouble loading the home page. This is not related to reports of hacking of the Soapblox network discussed earlier. The symptom of this issue–the top banner loads, but not the page itself–appears to be limited to Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers.
We are working on this problem. In the meantime, if you see this happening, try loading the site from another browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome, as we have yet to see the problem appear in those browsers.
And the more information we get the better–please send reports of this or any other problems you experience with the site to webmaster@coloradopols.com.

There has been a severe lack of Russian music videos in the open threads this year.
but this wouldn’t have helped. I couldn’t load the front page.
If you can’t read this page, here’s what you do…
Excellent!
But you’re right, we need a searchlight to relay Morse code or something in an emergency.
In fact, I had my computer guy come over because I couldn’t load it and when I loaded from Firefox, I couldn’t post a comment. So both of my browsers were messed up.
He cleaned my computer up, identified a virus and I’m up and running again but I’m relieved to hear this is happening to more people than just me.
Now it is corrected.
and began having the problem about the same time as Dan. It has not been easy. But, I am happy to report that, like Dan, the site is now working fine for me without any changes. So, I have to think that Pols fixed it just by whatever those geeky guys do when they look around.
…no problem.
Which is odd, frankly. I have occassional problems with Opera on certain pages, usually related to an inability to do some Java applets. Then I have to switch to Firefox. Recently FF wouldn’t open a page properly and I had to use IE. So much for international standards.
But the features in Opera are worth the occassional hiccup to me. When I use FF or Internet Exploder I feel like I’m driving a Yugo after a Porsche. BTW, tabbed pages and mouse gestures showed up first on Opera.
