The DCCC could help Dems win this eminently winnable seat just north of Manhattan:
Problem is that the DCCC tends to like self-financed, Democrat Lite , Blue Dog candidates who get institutional support from Washington, but, alas, not always the votes of the people in their districts who get to decide.
Zephyr Teachout just might be the woman who could unite the feminist and socialist wings of the Democratic Party in 2024. But you Bernistas wondering what to do with those $27 donations you've been sending to his campaign might want to help her reach that level. Here's a link: http://www.zephyrteachoutforcongress.com
FBI Director James Comey Recommends No Charges in Hillary Clinton Email Probe – Mother Jones
I was Dodded! 🙂
From the Vox article on the FBI investigation into Clinton’s e-mail.
Here's the video. No criminal charges but pretty damning for someone who wants to be President of the United State of America.
By a 4-3 vote, the Colorado Supreme Court shot down two ballot initiatives aimed at making substantial changes in how state legislative districts and U.S. House of Reps districts are drawn. The Court's opinion is available here.
The good news out of this is that it looks like under both the majority opinion and the dissent, that a repeal of TABOR would still be possible under the single subject requirement (there's been some question about that). Although it's my understanding that support for such a repeal doesn't currently exist, in the future, an initiative essentially undoing TABOR's changes to Article X would be a "single subject."
Agreed on the TABOR-single subject issue. Now all we need do is muster the political will. 🙂

Before moving on entirely from the flap over Trump's anti-semitic attack on Hillary, it is worth noting that the Trump Campaign's explanation does not make sense. I was struck that the campaign first claimed to have nothing to do with drafting the meme and in the very next breath claimed to have inserted the six-pointed star from Microsoft Shapes. Gawker spotted the same contradiction. On a minor point, Gawker first claimed the six-pointed star was not on Shapes, then admitted that it is on some versions. Gawker, unlike Trump, was quick to fix the mistake.
The conclusion is that we can't know if the campaign deliberately meant to slam Jews or whether, as usual, it didn't bother to check a meme from a neo-Nazi site. Either way, the Stumblebum Campaign continues it's trek toward electoral disaster:
http://gawker.com/trump-campaign-blames-antisemitic-tweet-on-microsofts-1783103054
The real problem with it IMHO isn't the use of a six-sided (red) star on a field of money, which is probably meant to be anti-Semitic considering its origin.
The real question is: why does the Trump campaign continue to scour anti-Semitic and white supremacist sites for memes to re-Tweet? There's something rotten in the Trump campaign, and it smells of bigotry.
That's absolutely the point. PR. On a minor point. the Gawker piece shows we still don't know who put the star on — the original skinhead author, who would have almost certainly intended it as a slam on Jews, or the Trump staff who claims he innocently used a six-point star to spruce up the meme — just a sentence after he claims he didn't touch it?
Either he didn't change it and his fault is limited to not recognizing the anti-semitic intent or he did change it and innocently used the six-pointed star from Shapes with no ill intent. But it is simply not possible that both these statements are true.
Can't quite say that one of these two statements is a lie because with a conscious lie you'd think the story would at least be possible. This is like the scolded child's defense "I didn't eat all mom's Oreos, the dog did and besides, the Oreos were stale."
But yes — this is the FIFTH TIME neonazi crap has been retweeted by the Trump campaign.. What next: are they going to play the Horst Wessel Liad at the convention instead of God Bless the USA? If they do, do they blame the mistake on You-Tube?
Yeah, actually we do know. Mic reported on Sunday about an earlier appearance. It came from 8chan's politically incorrect channel, where it was posted by a guy who has a history of racist crap…
https://mic.com/articles/147711/donald-trump-s-star-of-david-hillary-clinton-meme-was-created-by-white-supremacists#.O9QTnljpA
(FWIW, 8chan is where all the real asshats went when 4chan’s administrator decided to at least filter the turds from the cesspool…)
And it just keeps getting better. The Trump supporters, including his Jewish son-in-law, who think claiming that Trump isn't anti-Semitic is a great defense are completely missing the point. That actually makes his (and his son-in-law's who is a major player in his campaign and can't claim ignorance) wink winking at his neo-Nazi fans that much more despicable. Let's see if comes out to denounce this gem from David Duke…
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/david-duke-donald-trump-anti-semitism_us_577c1889e4b0a629c1ab0e50
David Duke’s new improved image. He loves him some Trump. Will Trump finally come out and say right out loud that he doesn’t love Duke (David, not our Duke) back?
PS. Guess David Duke doesn't think it was a "sheriff's" or "plain" star.
Looks persuasive, PR, but if you read my gawker piece, Scavino o\is quoted saying "The sheriff's star, which is available i\on Microsoft shapes, suggests Corrupt Hillary, WHICH IS WHY I SELECTED IT. (emphasis added. )
And this apparent spurious cl;aim immediately followed this
The social media graphic used this weekend was not created by the campaign nor was it sourced from an anti-Semitic site. It was lifted from an anti-Hillary Twitter user where countless images appear.
OK, we know it did come from an anti-semitic site, though Scavino was apparently telling the truth to claim the campaign did not create its. But why then did he falsely claim to have put the star on — a lie that actually makes Trump look worse than the truth did?
This goes beyond amateur hour to Stumblebum Squared.
