Good Times in America's Attic

( – promoted by Colorado Pols)

If you’re craving some political craziness more interesting than the Obama Cabinet rumor game, take a look at our neighbors to the North.

Even though Canadians just elected a minority government 7-odd weeks ago, the defeated Liberals, New Democrats, and Bloc Québécois, are trying to oust Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper with a tedious coalition.

If you’re familiar with Canada and/or other parliamentary democracies, this is absolutely fascinating.  If not, then I just seem reasonably crazy…

Most ironic about all this is that Opposition Leader Stéphane “Kermit the Frog” Dion is trying to head a coalition to lead Canada that depends on a group (the Bloc) that doesn’t even want to be a part of the freakin’ country!  While not a formal part of the Government, the Bloc has agreed to support a Dion Premiership in a confidence vote.

Anyway, if you have nothing better to do (and I know some of you don’t) hop over to the CBC and CPAC websites and take a look at the craziness going on in Ottawa.  The shouting matches between Harper and Dion during the Question Period the last couple days have been hilarious.  And if you speak French as well they’re even better.  🙂

Good times indeed…

Is this even remotely interesting?

    1. unless he got lucky and called an election right before everyone started to hate him.  His government’s mandate might still have a year or so left…

      Oh the horror!  🙂

    1. The Conservatives are definitely winning the PR game up there.  If whatever happens at the end of Jan forces new elections, hello majority Conservative Government.

  1. Sorry, my northern friends, your system is just weird.  Seems like the flunky of the Queen can just do what he wants, and he did.

If there was ever a better example of why those colonies need to ditch the relationship with the queen, this is it.  Why be an independent nation?
