from the Boulder Daily Camera
Hawaii has unveiled plans to be first in the nation to roll out electric car stations statewide – a move the governor hailed as a major step toward weaning the islands off oil.
Ritter talks up our “green economy” but I haven’t heard any mention of something liek this for Colorado – not even a demonstration project.
Hawaii is very focused on alternatives because 90% of it’s energy needs is imported oil – including electricity generation.
Did I mention that Lingle is a Republican…

San Fransico is doing something similar.
Believe it or not, Ritter has done a lot for renewable energy in Colorado; reorganizing the Governor’s Energy Office to focus on renewable’s, bringing in thousands of new jobs through Vesta’s, etc. Give the Governor some credit David.
but he’s not doing great. With what we have we could be the place for renewable energy. But we need to be leading in these highly visible efforts too.
I think Hawaii will be energy independent in 10 years. We could hit that goal too.
in Hawaii the Repubs are leading the charge against Big Oil while here in Colorado the Repubs are on Big Oil’s salary. Our last Governor was an oil lobbyist and the GOP’s rising stars just raked in millions from Big Oil for two separate campaigns; Senate Repubs and their anti-58 campaign.
They mock the very idea of renewable energy.
…is get Lingle to move here and run for Gov. If they don’t have any good home grown talent, import it 🙂
