Bill Ritter’s jibber-jabber featured Down Under:
But according to Bill Ritter, the Democratic Governor of Colorado, the old social conservative coalition has, in the end, sown the seeds of the Republicans’ fall. Ritter should know, as he was elected Governor of a relatively conservative state in a Democratic landslide two years ago. Democrats took the governorship and both houses of the state legislature for the first time in 50 years. The state elected a Democratic senator to the US Congress in 2004 and the party looks like easily winning the other Senate seat off the Republicans on Tuesday. Ritter firmly believes the wave Democrats have witnessed in Colorado is about to be replicated nationally.
“The wave has not ended,” he says. “Look at where independents (unaligned voters) are. They are trending Democrat in all the polling in Colorado and Obama is way ahead with independent women:
