No “Bradley Effect,” it would have manifested in Pennsylvania.
New Hampshire goes blue. Obama by 4 in Florida with 42% in.
We’re calling this thing.

Yeah, I think it’s all over by the crying and heavy drinking.
that Bush is still president for 11 more weeks.
God, I feel so good right now. I’m thrilled, in particular, with picking off Dole. That is just too sweet.
that “godless” crap was way over the line.
They will start moving soon.
That’s it, the fat lady can sing. No republican has ever won without Ohio and that holds true this year even without va, nc, fla or the western trifecta.
Obama is president elect of the United States.
Friends, we have seen history and, in our own modest way, we have made that history.
And he will get some of IN, VA, NC, & FL – maybe all.
The American people.
And the Democratic Party is…
a total rout is what we need to give some actual credibility to “I earned some political capital” and 350+ EV’s gives that to Obama. That looks well within reach at this point.
In PA they showed that skin color does not drive their vote. This country is not perfect but we do strive to be the best we can be and we do make progress.
Overwhelmingly Obama.
Obama and Udall by a little more than 10 points.
….and in Jeffco too. The GOP can still brag about Elbert, Douglas, El Paso, and Mesa Counties.
for Obama 61-36
…fortunately not the change McBush was hoping for!
for Obama!
And FL, IN, & MT are looking good!!!
People are whoo-hooing on my street. A lot of people.
Classy.
Wow – no love lost there.
Then again, McCain almost forgot to give his wife a perfunctory air kiss.
Not just because he conceded, but he was full of grace.
He made me a little misty eyed.
He did his best to bring the country back together. Major kudos to McCain for not just being classy & gracious, but doing everything he can to make Obama successful.
Spoken like the McCain of 2000 – and, let’s hope, the McCain of November 5, 2008 and beyond.
than the most of the folks listening to his concession speech at the AZ Biltmore could handle.
McCain’s people booed twice when John mentioned Obama. McCain hushed them both times.
When Obama mentioned McCain and his campaign, people clapped.
A snapshot of the psychologies of the types of people the supporters are. I think if McCain had won, those tribalists would still have booed Obama.
if THAT McCain ran for president he’d be giving the victory speech right now.
The Senator McCain we saw tonight is the Senator McCain many Democrats feared would be running against them in the election. It’s unfortunate for the Republicans that he wasn’t the one who was allowed to hit the trail and win the election.
is now whether Obama will have the courage to take the ideas that won him this election and turn them into policy.
Congratulations. God be with him.
God be with all of us! Working together.
I can hope, as Sen. McCain hoped, that President-elect Obama will receive the well-wishes and prayers of this entire nation. Now is the time to start coming together to solve our problems.
So many staffers and volunteers made this possible. We were all a part of history today. And Obama will be President of all the people.

OK, this is a squeaker, but it’s history:
Barack Obama (D) 95836 50%
John McCain (R) 95609 50%
A collective sigh of relief from millions of Americans swept across the country this evening as Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States of America.
The expelled air travelled across the plains from both coasts in a counter-clockwise motion and cooled slightly. “Truly, these are the winds of change” cites one anonymous official while gazing skyward.
Severe meteorological phenomena had been predicted for election day, most notably the “shit-storm” of protests regarding Republican interference and disenfranchisement of voters. As events unfolded, and Obama captured state after state with an historic GOTV and exemplary campaign of nearly two years, people were simply blown away by the momentum and energy.
Thanks to this clearing of the air, experts predict that 99% fewer people will have to hold their nose against the stink of the worst presidential administration in history. “Although the Republican stench is expected to linger until mid-January,” another unnamed source revealed, sharing with public new data, which is still sensitive “we should have clear skies after.”

Right now at close to 11pm MST it is looking just short of a landslide for Obama. Right now Montana is close to landing in the blue column as is Indiana(!), something I would not have expected. North Carolina is going along very close, but with 99% of the votes counted it looks to stay in the Obama tally. I could not have predicted this. I did not think we Democrats had a chance in Indiana. Montana, maybe, but not Indiana.
But all together this makes for 367 EVs. That is alsmot the number I predicted a week ago, but for the wrong reasons. I thought Georgia might flip and Indiana and Montana would not.
So I’m glad I did not take the bet on this being a landslide or Georgia going blue.
I may still get a beer and sxp might still get his.
According to reports, Atlanta has not counted over 600,000 early votes yet. McCain is only up by 240,000 votes, and Atlanta is very heavily African-American and Democratic leaning.
I wonder if Bush realizes they are not cheering for him…
His daughters get a puppy.
Hey Coloradopolsters,
Havent posted in a LONG time because i have been working and traveling. But I must say that watching the election news in Thailand with a bunch of taxi drivers and a couple australians and 4 US citizens was amazing.
The challenges ahead are immense, but I am excited (as are the taxi drivers). Viewing American election results from a country that experiences such constant political turmoil truly brought tears to my eyes.
Cheers to all, now time for some sleep!
