Morgan Carroll for State Senate District 29

  • by: wade norris

(Another post by a candidate in our great state – promoted by DavidThi808)

This year, Colorado has an excellent candidate running for Senate District 29. Morgan Carroll has already been an effective legislator in the State House, and has worked tirelessly on behalf of all Coloradoans on issues like healthcare. Her FAIR insurance act finally changed the way health insurance companies charge us for our health care. She has the fight needed to protect  the working families of Colorado.

Here is Morgan discussing her plans to address the economy once she is in the State Senate.

I can’t say enough about her FAIR act, in fact, here is the video on this bill which was a monumental step in the right direction for Coloradoans.

Now Health insurance companies will have to get all rate hikes approved by the insurance commissioner, which should end the days of a state with the healthiest citizens per capita being charged the 7th highest insurance premiums.

Her work in the house is enough to merit support for Morgan for Senate. But there are other issues she wants to tackle, issues that impact all of us, and that’s why I urge you to vote for her, and to visit her

website here.

  1. The FAIR act really showed that citizens are the key to passing critical reforms (at least when there are a lot of highly paid lobbyists opposing reforms) and not just winning elections.  I really want to thank the people who are taking time they don’t have to help shape our future.

Also, thanks to all volunteers out there.  If anyone wants to know how they can help between now and election day please feel free to visit http://www.senmorgancarroll.com.

We have a lot to be excited about!

    1. Yes, we’ld all prefer that the front page post for each candidate be something they wrote directly to us like the ones by Jared Polis, Will Shafroth, & Steve Ward. But the hours are few in the remianing days and so I’ll take a 2nd person one with a ps by the candidate.

  2. ..so to speak.

When other legislators were leaving the Capitol for a night or the weekend, no one was loaded down with bill folders more than Morgan.  I know, I often stacked them up for her based on the next day’s business.

I can’t prove it, but I don’t think any other legislator had as many volunteers, which shows the regard in which she is held.

Upon being elected, one of her first actions was to let the Sargent At Arms to not let lobbyists call her up from her job, representing us.  Traditionally, lobbyists hand their card to the SAA, who then gives it to the desired lege.  And then typically, the lege leaves the assembly. Hard to believe.

    1. My dad thinks my mom is the only legislator who actually reads every bill they consider. I’ll get a call from here every week or so during session and she’ll dive into some bill covering high-tech and have me work with her to try and figure out both what it would actually do, and why someone wants it.

You’re right – the best ones put in an amazing amount of effort.

    2. because what are the lobbyists gonna do?

Meanwhile, I think I know you, possibly, but only by sight.  Something you wrote recently made me think of a dark haired guy in a colored dress shirt.  Maybe red?  Do you have a red dress shirt?
