Ben Harper performs for Barack

The day before 100,000 people piled into Civic Center Park to watch Barack speak, several hundred gathered in the Greek Amphitheater to see another Colorado favorite talk about the election — Ben Harper.

The musician and his wife, actress Laura Dern, flew to Colorado Saturday to talk to folks about voting early for Barack. The pair started in Denver, where they headlined a R2B event.

Ben spoke to the crowd before he performed two songs. He said:

There is a danger in suggesting who other people should vote for, and I recognize that. But I think there is a greater danger in being silent out of fear. And I’m proud to be here as one voice in a collective voice of millions of people who can bring Barack Obama into the White House.

They then traveled north to Boulder with actor Zach Braff, where around 1,600 students gathered to hear Ben perform and listen to Zach talk.
