  1. This is a terrible law that will cause the courts to be slammed with lawsuits.

Unfortunately I think it’s going to pass because it was worded so deceptively. Most people don’t realize that it doesn’t only cover college admissions (the issue that most people feel shouldn’t be involved in affirmative action) but it also removes it when it comes to government contracts–an area most would agree needs work with regards to equal opportunity.

Don’t be fooled into thinking that the so-called “civil rights initiative” is doing anything except further restricting civil rights.

      1. It is about removing equal opportunity programs in the state of Colorado. It is about white people who think they are being discriminated against.

It would be one thing if we lived in a post-racial society, where no one discriminated against one another. But we don’t, sorry. There is a lot of racism in this state, even if it’s not institutional racism, and so we still need affirmative action programs.

If you want to eliminate discrimination, then affirmative action is a great way to do it. Vote NO on 46 because it makes affirmative action, for all intents and purposes, illegal.

        1. Your last line seems to be contradictory.  Wouldn’t a yes vote eliminate affirmative action?

Also, you only mention racism (which I agree still exists) but don’t affirmative action programs also benefit women?

Finally, what do you mean by equal opportunity programs?
