    1. are all metro denver and he’s doing the National Western here. Durango makes sense as a second stop because both McCain and Palin have already hit Mesa.

Beisdes, while he’ll probably be too busy to savor it, Durango area truly is God’s country.

        1. as they say in the nfl, you’re right.  Palin, not mcC went to Mesa. But McCain in Durango-Cortez area and Palin in Mesa is still better skedding than both going to Mesa. That’s one reason I like the electoral college. If we went to popular vote, nobody would ever worry about smaller markets like the West Slope. But they can make the difference in a close race.

    1. And he still wouldn’t win the election without Florida, unless he took NH too.

OTOH, he could take OH, FL and PA and still not win without VA, NV and CO.

The math is not on Sen. McCain’s side.

  2. Ok, if McCain is truly concentrating on winning, then Colorado is not it. It’s PA, FL, NC, etc. We’re not part of his best least worst case scenario.

But if he’s now in the lose with as much political power remaining in his hands as possible, then Colorado makes more sense. Because he wants to lose by a very small amount everywhere.

That would also explain his continuing to work Iowa – a lost cause for a win, but where he can reduce the margin.

  3. Sounds like a plan.  The MSNBC Bobbsey Twins, Keith and Rachel,  are reporting that McCain finally has a strategy which might just work.  He is pulling all his resources and will focus the last ten days on winning in PA, FL, and OH.

The thing about McCain is that he was written off in the summer of 2007, revamped his campaign, and won the nomination.

Victory dances before the last whistle blows can spook a campaign.

McCain comes to Denver Friday…and all weekend, (Broncos don’t play). KOA blasts the story all over the state…He doesn’t have to buy time.   And, maybe, just maybe, there will be some kind of ugly public demonstration which will make national news.

McCain is not a dumb man; he may be half the campaigner he was in 2000.  Look for him to maximize the Denver stop.
