Ok, so I’m unloading groceries from the car when a canvasser from Progressive Future comes up to talk to me.
They were charged up, eloquent, persuasive, and did it very smoothly, not pushy at all. Very very impressive. She was talking up A-58 first (YES!), Obama second, and then mentioned who they are and wanted me to fill out a form to join them.
I hadn’t heard of them before but if this person matches the average they have out there, then they’re having a significant effect.
She had talked to an undecided voter a bit earlier. That’s right, here in Boulder Colorado we apparently have someone who has not decided yet.
I didn’t sign up but I did ask her if she wanted a soda pop and she said anything with caffine. So I did donate a can of Coke to the cause.
Anyways, has anyone else heard of this group? How big? How effective?

I think they are in 4 states
Their leadership skews real young, but they have a lot of dough since they have hired LOTS of canvassers. I don’t know where they get it.
Advocate for amorphous “progressive” goals (reject issue oriented style of activism). I don’t know that they are sustainable without big outside money.
They are an offshoot of the PIRGs
