Allard no longer accepting email

(Nice job if you can get it – promoted by DavidThi808)

Wayne Allard
is no longer accepting e-mail from us. I just checked

his senate site
and sure enough it states:

The United States Senate has effectively recessed for the remainder of the year, and will not be considering new legislative proposals. I am retiring, and so my Senate career has also ended. Accordingly, I feel that your thoughts and views on this matter would be best addressed to my successor.

This was news to me, and I really couldn’t believe it. We are still paying him for a few more months.

Be kind, my first diary here, but thought this site really needed to know this and I hadn’t seen it earlier.

  1. I guess he’s kinda right…there’s not a whole lot of “work” left to do.  But the fact that he’s still getting paid until January 20th leads me to think he should still at least accept email.  Even if no one is going to read them he could fake it…

    1. I believe he helped with the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve bill, and as Gray points out, he’s been reasonably useful on forest issues.

For the most part, though, “potted plant” wasn’t too far from the truth.

  2. Not only has Allard earned his “Dumbest Senator” label.  He’s been working on “Laziest Legislator” all along.  His ball-dropping failure at party-building and party-tending has helped extend the careers of others among the dimmest of Republican dim bulbs.  And helped his party to fail to adapt, steepening its dive into irrelevance.  Neither a show horse nor a workhorse, Allard aspires to be no more an old horse.  Good riddance to a lazy and unimaginative blockhead.

    1. A couple of things:

      1.  You’re=you are, it is not rocket science

      2.  McCain (note the big C that comes after the little c)

      3.  If Obama hates all white people, why does he work with them?

Thanks for the video, it was really well done.
