I've been seeing a lot of speculaiton and analysis on how the EUR has become the more popular safe haven. In recent days, Gold is down with most other commodities, including oil. EUR has gained vs. USD, and most other currencies.
I know the Fed really wants to raise rates, really, REALLY, even if just a bit. But mst of us have no lived through an economy in deflationary spiral. Descriptions in all the books and classrooms are bad, horrifyingly bad. So a little sell off in Treasuries helps the Fed. But no reasonable person anywhere believes the way to get there is even talk about a first ever US default, let alone do it.
Meanwhile, unreasonable people are supporting Trump – king of the bankruptcy as debt management tool.
Hey- is there any way the Colorado GOP can agree not vote for a president next summer either, somehow making them more influential in the general. And then if they don't vote in the general, they become most influential of all.

You know what's even funnier? I actually get to vote for a Democratic candidate! You, on the other hand, don't. It appears your "Central Committee" doesn't trust you to vote the right way. Oh sure, you get to go to a caucus and rant and rave and get all Trumpy, but nobody in the "Central Committee" gives a shit what you think.

Even your Executive Committee has no faith in you or Moddy or the rest of your members to choose the least-clownish candidate running for your party's nomination.
It must be tough for the party full of Bozos to not choose a fellow clown.
Better do like Trump and file for moral, ethical and intellectual bankruptcy so you can get a fresh start 🙂
Given the track record of the GOP primary voters – or worse, the caucus attendees – the Establishment had no choice but to take away the presidential preference vote. Over the past five years, the Powers-That-Be in the GOP served up Scott McInnis, Jane Norton and Willard Romney only to see the voters revolt and go with Dan Maes, Ken Buck and "Forthy Mix" Santorum.
Better to have a meeting of Bill Owens, Cory Gardner, Bob Beauprez, Bruce Benson and the two Coffmans, and have them put together a slate of delegates pledged to support JEB! (assuming he's still running by the time they meet) or Cory Gardner as a favorite son on the first ballot than risk having a slate of Trumpistas selected at the caucuses and then running the state party org.
When you think about it more than a second or two, you realize the "optics" (you know, politicos really like that term) are bad here. It's one thing for a party to require delegates to be committed or bound to support who they were elected to support at each step of the caucus/assembly/convention process. It's quite another thing to say to your loyal party members, "We really don't care who you support so we're not even doing a preference poll."
Even so, I'm guessing the authoritarian Republicans will be very accepting of this backroom decision – their leaders can tell them what to do and how to think.
That is cute. Ahhh, if only Hillary's server problems turn out as well as Bill's blue dress problems.
Bill defied the law of political gravity in 1998 with the Dems actually picking up five (5) U.S. House seats in the sixth year of a president's term thanks in large part to the fixation the Republicans had with that cum-stained dress. Oh, and Newt Gingrich and Bob Livingston lost their jobs as a result to boot!
Love you AC. You seem to be dedicated to making my every prediction about you come true. I'm not really a clairvoyant genius but that can be our little secret.
Facts will never get in the way of AC's and AFP's and Rs' simplistic ideas and biases. Kinda like ISIS – they might all be happier by having all our knowledge and history be destroyed so they can carry on in a world that has no history.
