Liberals Take Questions For Musgrave

  • by: Colorado Pols

We were copied on an email sent by the liberal activist group Progress Now to Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (follows), directing her to answer a YouTube question from a CD-4 resident:

Progress Now’s “Misguided Musgrave” website has a form to submit your own question for Musgrave. The site looks a great deal like Musgrave’s campaign website, except for the fact that it works.

It’s obviously unlikely that Musgrave will respond to unfriendly questions posed by liberals–and we say that’s exactly why she should.

Subject: Rep. Musgrave, please answer this question…

Dear Congresswoman Musgrave,

One of your consituents, Ralph Trenary has a question for you regarding veterans.

Please click on the image at right or the link below to view Ralph’s question.

Please answer his question.

Thank you for your time.

P.S.  You claim when you stand up for veterans, yet your record shows otherwise:

On June 15, 2007 you voted against passage of the FY 2008 Homeland Security Appropriations bill would provide $109.2 billion in fiscal 2008 for the Department of Veteran Affairs and $37 billion for veterans’ health programs. (CQ House Vote 491, HR 2638, June 15, 2007)

On May 11, 2006, you voted against recommitting the FY 07 Department of Defense Authorization bill to eliminate military taxes on widows and orphans.(CQ House Vote 144, HR 5122, May 11, 2006)

The Disable American Veterans have given you consistent failing grades for your record on supporting disabled veterans. (www.DAV.org)

  1. Why does the GOP vote no on these bills? Do they think they’re wasteful?

Because the DoD is the most wasteful government agency in our history, and they never vote no on funding that.

I can’t think of any reason other than political expediency for her (or any elected official) to vote no on bills that would help injured vets.

  2. Anyone besides me notice that she no longer uses her last name? On her website? On her yard signs? (Oh, the last name is there but you have to squint to see it.)

What’s up with ditching the last name, changing your colors from proud red to green and basically pretending you aren’t a Republican anymore?

    Hmmm?

      1. It’s not a bad move, either, if she’s trying to reach Unaffiliateds that may have moved to the area in the last 2 years. The Front Range is growing by leaps and bounds and most people seem to know who Musgrave is, even those that don’t live here so it’s a smart way to try and reintroduce herself. I just don’t think it’s working.
