  1. Dr. Chaps is off and running for Cadman’s senate seat. According to the Post, he said he reached his decision after fasting for 72 hours and hearing the voice of God tell him to do it.  I’m guessing it was more of a low blood sugar issue.

    1. Dr. Chaps is the turd floating in the House’s punchbowl.  Now after just 4 months in office where his only accomplishment is to demonstrate what a deluded fool he is, he’s decided he needs a bigger punch bowl.

If the voters in Somalia Springs promote him to the State Senate, then they deserve the representation they get.

      1. this is the logical conclusion of the Dobson/New Life/Pastor Ted voting bloc created in northern El Paso county. Praise the Lord and pass the ballot box!

      2. There is no ceiling to Chaps’ arrogance and ambition, no floor to the depths to which he will sink to further expand the reach of his political “ministry”.

  2. A no-brainer (well, relatively) for our Sr. U.S. Senator:

Bertrand Olotara is a cook for the UK based (WTF?!) Compass Group, the contractor that rakes in billions in profits and yet does not pay its American workers a living wage.

Every day, I serve food to some of the most powerful people on earth: I’m a cook for the federal contractor that runs the US Senate cafeteria.I’m a single father and I only make $12 an hour; I had to take a second job at a grocery store to make ends meet. But even though I work seven days a week – putting in 70 hours between my two jobs – I can’t manage to pay the rent, buy school supplies for my kids or even put food on the table. I hate to admit it, but I have to use food stamps so that my kids don’t go to bed hungry.

Tired of hearing platitudes from millionaire Senators who are running for President, Mr Olotara and his fellow employees have decided that the power brokers are going to have to get their grub from someone else’s hands and is going on strike:I am walking off my job because I want the presidential hopefuls to know that I live in poverty.

Many senators canvas the country giving speeches about creating “opportunity” for workers and helping our kids achieve the “American dream” – most don’t seem to notice or care that workers in their own building are struggling to survive.

This is the outsourcing/privatization fetish gone amok. Lowest labor costs are inflicted on workers, highest profits achieved for the outsourcers, and responsibility evaded by most. This model also applies to many service industries, the computer industry, prison/parole corporations operate in many states, and many more situations within our economy.

Screwing the worker for higher profits should not be the result of America’s labor and hiring policies, especially within government. But for Republicans, it’s a win-win for exactly those reasons, and it’s something Democrats can, and should, work to fix.

    1. This is why we need a $15/hr minimum wage. Here’s a man trying to raise his children, working 70 hours a week – which means he doesn’t get to spend the time with his kids that he should – who still qualifies for food stamps. And Obama’s minimum wage order (to $10.10) doesn’t help him; even assuming Obama’s order covers a Congressional cook the man is already making more than that insufficient wage.

  3. Denver “2015” Auditors Election

O’Brien was approved by the Colorado Legislator to be the State Auditor 12 years. He has guided a large department of people to conduct 750 State audits. Saving the state $200,000,000. He has been a licensed CPA in the state since 1974.  Look at his web site, seeing all of these facts, O’Brien has the leadership and experience for the best auditor for our city.                                                                                                 I don’t see any Auditing or Accounting experience in the background of Nevitt.

He keeps saying “none of the others have”.  Noting Nevitt has been on the City Council for 8 years, how can he conduct an audit of the Council with out it being a conflict of interest? He has accepted money from devlopers that are chosen by the Council.

Watching the two debates, Nevitt stumbles his way with his answers to the questions. He clearly has no idea how to run this office. Anyone wonder how Nevitt has all of this backing from the Politcials in this city when this guy has no experience of any  kind  in Auditing field?

O’brien is running as an Independent and doesn’t want to be associated with and party. No favors owed or expected from anyone.

  4. Isn’t anyone interested in the Denver City Elections? It is hard to believe that no one cares who runs our city. Be sure to mail your vote in, O’Brien for City Auditor. He is the best person for the job. See post above. Thank you Chris Nevitt is not the man for this job, lets leave him under his desk.
