Rick ODonnell, republican candidate for Colorados Seventh Congressional District, announced today that he raised an additional $150,000 during the latest filing period. The fundraising push brings Ricks total cash on hand to $364,500.
Still well ahead of both Ed Perlmutter and Peggy Lamm the only question remains: Did Mark Paschall raise enough money to even file this quarter? Monday may hold the answer.

ODonnell reports an additional $150,000 for 3rd Quarter
The campaign of Rick ODonnell for Colorados Seventh Congressional District announced today that it raised an additional $150,000 during the latest filing period, bringing its total to more than $420,000 raised so far this year. It made the announcement after filing its disclosure report with the Federal Election Commission.
I am thankful for the hundreds of people supporting my campaign, said Rick ODonnell. Our team is growing and putting in place an excellent foundation for when we enter election season.
Between July 1 and September 30, the campaign reported to the FEC that it raised $150,000 and ends the filing period with cash-on-hand of $364,500.
With his energy, ideas, and record of accomplishment, people are eager to support Rick, said finance committee co-chair Marcy Benson. People like what they see in Rick: a future Congressman, a bridge-builder of tremendous talent who will be honest, open and hard working for the Seventh and all of Colorado, Benson continued.
The Seventh Congressional District is currently held by Congressman Bob Beauprez, who has publicly declared his intention to run for Colorado Governor in 2006. ODonnell currently serves in the cabinet of Governor Bill Owens as executive director of the Colorado Commission on Higher Education. He is a native of Colorados Seventh Congressional District and lives in Lakewood.

Maybe I am reading more into this than I should, but with some candidates the Dead Guvs talk about total raised, with others, just cash on hand.
What is up with that?
yep… reading too much into it…
This is precisely why Peggy lamm needs to end her suicide mission and get behind Perlmutter. We are going to lose this district because of a damn primary that is totally unnecessary. Lamm doesn’t even live in the district!!!!
Does anyone else find it a strange tactic by the O’Donnell campaign to file this reasoanbly good report late on a Friday? Hiding from the C and D campaign and not wanting to deal with press perhaps?
Actuially, Colorado dem, Lamm and Perlmutter have both been gone from the scene long enough to be pretty obscure to most voters. A primary could help the winner a lot, honing her/his campaign skills and raising name id. Of course, I mean a fairly civilized one, like I believe they could conduct. A low-blow brawl like Holtzman/Beauprez would probably give the 7th cd to O’Donnell, just as Holtzman/Beauprez are handing the governor’s office to Ritter. I know both dems well and regard Lamm as the stronger campaigner and stronger candidate, albeit Perlmutter was probably the better legislator. Of course, he had a stint in the majority in the Senate, which Lamm never enjoyed in the House.
Plus, there is a little thing called the Democratic process. If the bosses try to force Lamm out, the voters will reject Perlmutter. I use the term bosses in a mocking sense, cuz in colorado there ain’t no political bosses and haven’t been since at least Webb.
A few weeks ago Rick O’Donnell was proclaiming that he would reach $750,000 to $1,000,000 by the end of the year. Now, he barely outraises Perlmutter while running unopposed. The Democrats can win this seat if they don’t have a primary fight.
I agree with you, ironic. Perlmutter should withdraw in favor of Lamm.
Lamm needs to run for something because she is talented person, BUT she ought to run for an office representing the community where she lives. She also desperately needs to clear up why she supported Owens in 2002. In the 7th, I say “GO ED!!!”
Boy am I glad you place party unity above all else, ironic _ when you think that tactic would give Perlmutter a free ride. And you’re totally opposed to divisive intra party fights, except when you start throwing mudballs at Lamm.
Did I miss the announcement that God had died and made Perlmutter lord of the universe? Or do we by chance still live in a democracy? Maybe we should let the voters decide between Lamm and Perlmutter. But if a primary is too damaging the offer still stands for him to withdraw in Lamm’s favor. The Ds. might give him the lieutenant governor slot in gratitude.
Ummm…exactly where has Beauprez publicly announced his candidacy and what happens when Beauprez decides to run for CD7?
Gee, how many times to BB have to say he is running for Gov?
Ed’s never had the attention span for this kind of race. Anyone else notice
the correlation between Ed’s drop in fundraising and Grossman not going for
AG? Hmmmmm….
