  1. Obama, it seems, likes well-planned and well-executed special operations.

Today it is reported that the capture of Abu Khadallah went off without a single shot. The suspected Benghazi attack ringleader was surveilled for days in advance and was lured to a location where it would be safe to capture him.

    Good job, US Special Forces.

    1. Is that how one walks softly, not going in with guns blazing smashing everything with a big stick, looking like a bunch of teen aged yahoos?

Good for our guys.  They're the best.

    2. That's not how Repugnicants see it.  They think the capture was timed to help Hillary's book tour(!)  In the GOP world, America can do nothing right as long as Obama is president.  It must suck to be a conservative.

      1. Here's more of what they think. Including that Obama is funding Jihadists to destroy America, that he and HRC are plotting to impose Sharia law and a bunch of other stuff you just can't make up.  An eye opening report on the latest Heritage Foundation delusions. Even those of us who consider them over the top crazy may be surprised by just how over the top crazy these folks really are. I was. And judging by the ugly way they treated a young Muslim woman I think it goes beyond crazy. Heritage Foundation and their invited allies ought to be listed as hate groups.

        1. BC, watch the tape.  It is availabe online.  Milbank has correctly been getting push back for just making stuff up.  If you read his article and watch the tape it is like he lives in a seperate universe.

          1. MSU and a separate universe huh ?  Thats kind of like:

Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, John McCain, Mike Coffman, Bob Beauprez, Cory Gardner, Scott Gessler, Paul Ryan, etc. etc. etc.

          2. I've watched the tape. The panelists jumped all over this poor courageous Muslim woman, trying to make her responsible for speaking for all of the "extremists" they were mad at, instead of actually listening to the very low-key message of peace and tolerance she was bringing.

I saw a tape I'm going to share,of a soldier's response to anti-Muslim hating. It's from some stupid reality TV show, "What Would You Do", but it's worth watching for the vet's response.

          3. If it's available and you think it backs up your point it's your job to provide the link. Also links to your claims about push back. Push back from whom? You're really lazy about links, AC. I can understand why. So much of what you've provided in the past has rather hilariously proven your opposition's point instead of yours, making you look really dumb.

  2. Chuck Todd on MSNBC, presenting latest WSJ poll on Presidential popularity:

    • Obama is on shaky ground – 54% don't think he can lead the country anymore as a term-limited President. Look to AC to gloat over that.
    • Here's the part he, and the right wing sites, won't promote:
    • Tea party favorability 22%, Republican party favorability 29%. 45% prefer Democratically-controlled Congress, vs. 43% preference for Republican control.

    • The spin machine has had its effect – 44% disapprove of the Bergdahl prisoner swap.

    • But 61% of Americans believe climate change needs action. 57% approve of the new EPA rules on greenhouse gases.

  3. Big surprise (NOT), Ken Buck is in the Koch's backpocket:

Supporting Buck are several key powerbrokers. Among them: $1,000 from Gardner's political action committee; $2,500 from KochPAC, tied to the company owned by conservative kingmakers David and Charles Koch; and $5,000 from the leadership PAC run by outgoing House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia.

To try to keep pace, his opponents have pumped more than $600,000 of their own money into the race. Most recently, state Sen. Scott Renfroe on June 5 loaned his campaign $70,000 to go with the $200,000 he has already put in.

That's nearly as much as the $350,000 that Steve Laffey, a former Rhode Island politician now living in Larimer County, has loaned his campaign.

Looks like Ken Buck will cruise through the primary and into Congress come November.  Koch's don't care that they are trading a poodle for a bichon  — the only job qualification they demand is to be a good lapdog.

    1. Davie,

That's mean.Bichons are adorable, and besides, real poodles (full-sized ones) are bird-dogs. They earn their keep; not something that can be said about Cory or Ken.

  4. Republicans think they've found the key issue to ruin the rest of Obama's term and destroy Hillary and Dems hopes for 2016. Refighting the Iraq war. Dems must not let them do this.

The Iraq disaster remains George W. Bush's enduring folly, and the Republican attempt to shift the blame to the Obama presidency is obscene nonsense. This was, and will always be, viewed properly as Bush's quagmire, a murderous killing field based on blatant lies.

This showcase of American deceit, obvious to the entire world, began with the invented weapons of mass destruction threat that Bush, were he even semi-cognizant of the intelligence data, must have known represented an egregious fraud. So was his nonsensical claim that Saddam Hussein had something to do with the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, when in fact he was Osama bin Laden's most effective Arab opponent.

Yet Bush responded to the 9/11 attacks by overthrowing a leader who had banished al-Qaida from Iraq and who had been an ally of the United States in the war to contain Iran's influence in the region. Instead of confronting the funders of Sunni extremism based in Saudi Arabia, the home of 15 of the 19 hijackers and their Saudi leader bin Laden, Bush chose to attack the secular leader of Iraq. That invasion, as the evidence of the last week confirms, resulted in an enormous boon to both Sunni extremists and their militant Shiite opponents throughout the Mideast.

  5. Is terminal arrogance a character descriptor for every poli sci major that works on a political campaign? Holy crap. Not mentioning any names, and not referring to anyone on here, as far as I know, but, sheesh. Talk about kiss o'death.
