Looks like AFP may be switching tactics on the anti-Udall ads: finally pivoting from "Udallcare" to "Udall isn't oil-friendly enough". Here's AFP's new ad:
To answer it:
Keystone XL won't create significant jobs in Colorado. (or elsewhere)
Oil and gas jobs in Colorado are less than 2% of the economy, but communities where that is a mainstay are welcome to keep their fracking industry – it's a local control issue.
I don't have time this morning to post extensive links, but you get the idea.
Anyone else get a spam email from Joe Neguse this morning? I'm guessing he has a virus on his computer. (Not good for a candidate because it can get his email flagged by the spam filters.)
How do we tie this guy to Cory Gardner?
"What a surprise: It turns out that Cliven Bundy, the deadbeat cattle rancher who has become a hero to conservative politicians and pundits, is nothing but—well, besides that whole deadbeat cattle rancher thing—a racist :

Have any of our state's politicians been complaining about the BLM's enforcement action?
I haven't heard of any at the state capitol lately, but I spoke to someone from Jackson County (the Cowboy's district) who launched into a tirade against the BLM yesterday. Look for anyone talking about the sage grouse, and how the BLM is protecting its environment in Colorado when it's endangered everywhere except here.
A helpful hint from a NY Times poll for the Koch Bros. and AFP… Your position on the ACA is unpopular, even in Southern states.
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/24/upshot/health-laws-middle-ground-approach-leaves-it-unloved.html
While the article is titled "Health Law's Middle Ground Approach Leaves It Unloved", the real story should be "Government provided health insurance is the best option – Southerners". The Times polled Arkansas, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Louisiana; asked whether government should (a) stay out of individual health insurance, (b) provide some help, or (c) be the provider of insurance, the plurality said (c) – the government should be the provider of individual insurance – and a majority in each state said (b) or (c).
When you've lost the red states, you've lost.
Seems like the right-wingers are losing the red states on a lot of issues. A marriage case was filed in Georgia a couple of days ago. Alabamas got one, Mississippi's got one, Louisiana and Florida, too. Who's left?
It can't be said enough:
http://www.boycottkochbrothers.com/
It can't be said enough, but damn is it hard to avoid buying some of those.
It is, particularly when buying or building a home. I bet someone could make a fortune building eco-friendly Koch-free homes. Talk about a two-fer.
New Quinnipiac poll has bad news for Udall and the left in Colorado.
http://www.quinnipiac.edu/news-and-events/quinnipiac-university-poll/colorado/release-detail?ReleaseID=2034
"Voters who list the economy back Gardner over Udall 53 – 40 percent and voters who cite health care back the Republican 57 – 36 percent.
Colorado voters oppose the Affordable Care Act 59 – 37 percent, including 62 – 34 percent among independent voters."
And yet Udall still leads in the poll, if only by a single point.
Democrats know they've been clobbered by AFP's millions and Republican lies on Obamacare. They also know that the numbers are turning around fast, and there are six months of implemented Obamacare to build support and trust in the program – along with opportunities to stand up and own it with the numbers supporting the Democrats.
I shudder to think that Gardner gets higher marks on economic issues after having backed the shutdown and the debt ceiling crisis in 2011.
The poll is crap. GOPers are oversampled. Same poll also has Rand Paul beating Hillary in CO. As I said — crap.
Isn't this the same poll that has Hick up by 7 against Tanc and more vs everyone else?
May or may not be the same pollster (don't know), but it's not the same poll.
Further, Quinnipiac's 2012 Colorado polling proved decidely GOP friendly and far off the actual results. While Obama carried the state by +5, Q routinely had Romney up, by as much as +5 at one point, and its final poll had Romney up +1.
And Rand Paul leading Hillary Clinton in CO by +5? Horse manure. Not unless the sampling skews R.
What I get from the poll – everyone likes to complain. Obama's approval rating, 38/59, is down from 43/54 in June 2013, which was 6 months after he won Colorado 51/46. People don't approve, but that doesn't mean they are going to vote for Romney (or Paul, or Christie, or another Bush). They oppose the ACA 37/59, down from 40/56 five months ago. That does not mean that they are going to vote for Gardner. It is easy to complain, but unless the Republicans can present themselves (or their plan) as an upgrade, these poll results mean nothing.
I guess those "stale" Udallcare ads are working.
Atta Boy ! I just KNEW you wouldn't give up on " Udallcare" !
You made my day.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/04/24/1294337/-Study-Republican-claims-of-millions-losing-health-insurance-completely-overblown
Why GOP claims about people losing health care plans under the ACA are BS:
That was 2008-2011, before the ACA kicked in.
Here's a Republican hard at work repairing his party's piss-poor image among women.
Looks like we have a new "indepedent" entry that's already anti-Obamacare. http://www.9news.com/story/news/politics/elections/2014/04/24/doctor-steve-shogan-independent-senate/8102905/
Good luck Steve Shogan, and it gives Gardner less votes if he does get in.
Best news for Mark Udall in a long time — an ani ObamaCare, fiscal conservative, pro-choice and with lots of money he is willing to spend Steve Shogan MD may get as much as 10% and derail the Gardner Campaign. Dr. Shogan's announcement got great press. 70% to 75% of the votes he gets will come from Gardner. The other good news is that gvoernor Hickenlooper has rebounded very nicely with growing approval ratings. http://www.shoganforsenate.com/
