McCain Coming to Denver

  • by: Colorado Pols

Republican presidential nominee John McCain will visit Denver Thursday for a fundraiser at the Denver Petroleum Club. Liberal activist groups will be holding a press conference tomorrow expressing their displeasure (announcement follows), the “Petroleum Club” serving as a wonderfully villainous backdrop for any liberal activist group press conference. We’re told Dr. Evil RSVP’ed “no.”

We’ve heard that US Senate candidate Bob Schaffer will also be there, but we’ve also heard he might not. No doubt he finds your suspense delicious either way.

  1. McCain is my guy now. Doesn’t mean I like it but I’ll be doing my part to get him elected. I hope the fund-raiser goes well and I’ll send a few folks that way… hell maybe I’ll go. 🙂

    1. It’s interesting that the sentiment of some Republicans on this site is “he’s not my first choice, but…” in regards to McCain. I respect and understand the sentiment. I wonder if I’ll have the same attitude if my preferred Democrat isn’t the nominee.

      1. You will take your righteous indignation that (the candidate you wanted) “was robbed” and vote Republican to show those guys they can’t mess with real Democrats.

        1. As a matter of fact, I used to be a Republican. Many of the reasons I left the party are echoed here on this site.

I appreciate differing opinions. I’m not indoctrinated in the far-left mindset that I refuse to acknowledge when someone whom I disagreed with yesterday makes a good point today. I give credit where it’s due.

Whether or not I agree with you, I respect you.

I was taught that if I were to argue one side of a debate strongly, I should also be able to debate the other side just as strongly. It gave me perspective.

          1. He has flip flopped of dozens of issues, kissed up to Bush, the neocons, the don’t-tax-and-spenders, and the radical religious right–sold his soul for a shot at the golden ring.

  2. If it’s a bad thing to go to the DAC now? According Huttner it is, so I guess all the Democrats who I work out with there better find a new gym.

Also someone should film Huttner riding to the press confrence on his bicycle because I know he would use a gasoline powered car…. ahhhh the horror.
