Maybe this will get your heart pumping a little this morning. For those who don't know him, Maceo Parker played alto sax in James Brown's band for years and years. He appears to be keeping the faith.
Thank you, thank you. Really did get my blood pumping because I danced though the whole thing. Love, love, love the funk.
PS: David, don't even bother to try to follow that with your crappy Russian Euro-pop.
For BC
Make it Funky was the perfect warm up for my daily weight training and core workout. Finished it and here was Wants to get Funked Up, a perfect post-workout cool down. Feelin' good. Thanks again, Ralphie.
Oh yeah, that was the perfect way to dance those freshmen out of my system. Thanks, Ralphie.
Dedicated to all of our crazy rightie election-year trolls. God I love Fallon…
Another delightful video. You need to take over from David.
I can't take over from David. I firmly believe that Russians have no soul.
Well of course I meant by substituting your impeccable taste for his. But, while contemporary Russian pop may have no soul, you're wrong about Russians. Russians and Ukrainians both are very warm, soulful people and their traditional music is full of soul and passion. Let me hear those balalaikas ringin' out.
Continuing in R&B mode, here's Lionel Ritchie with the Commodores, singing "Night Shift", dedicated to Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson. Enjoy:
oops, Lionel Ritchie's not on this version.
Great song, with or without Lionel in front of the band.
