Aurora Rep. Garcia accused of exposing himself to lobbyist

From The Denver Post:

A lobbyist is accusing House Assistant Majority Leader Michael Garcia of exposing himself to her and making lewd comments at a bar.

Garcia did not return calls seeking comment and House Speaker Andrew Romanoff refused to answer questions today about the allegations.

The lobbyist, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Garcia exposed himself to her and said, “Wouldn’t this be real nice inside of you?” Garcia and several lobbyists were at Lancer Lounge playing pool and drinking after a fund-raiser for Garcia on Jan. 7, she said.

The woman said she decided to register a complaint with Romanoff after learning about four other similar allegations against Garcia over the past seven years.

  1. If he denies, and evidence is presented or the woman goes public things get harry.  I would encourage any woman with a similar stories to come forward.

    1. …how fast this asshole, if the allegations are true, is pushed out the door.

You pick two Dems out of what, forty years?  And not the Colorado legislature?

The first part of your statement is sort of correct, no, Dems don’t do this…and when they do, we the people get rid of them.

      1. That is EXACTLY what I say about my party. We dumped Duke Cunningham and Mark Foley like a hot potato.

For those that won’t go quickly, like Larry Craig, the voters will deal with him come his next election.

Meanwhile, Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden are still in the Senate, and Mr Fragrant cigar smoking, 21 year old intern using ex first Black President Clinton is the hero of your party.

        1. We dumped Duke Cunningham and Mark Foley like a hot potato.

Really? I followed both cases in the news and the former was supported right up til his conviction while the latter was covered until his abuse of power became public. (Recall that ‘pub pages were warned about Foley but not Dems.)

Face it, you’re going to lose these pissing matches over your distorted perception that the GOP is somehow more moral than the Dems.

          1. Duke Cunningham en masse after the alligations were made public.

I have friends in San Diego and S. Orange county, and belive me, the folks were shocked at his behavior and urged him to resign.  All you need do is look at the letters to the editor in the OC Register and the SD Tribune about that time.

          1. It was in fact the groundswell of Republicans from not only FL., but across the nation that caused the pressure on him. A few may have known or suspected in congress, but had no proof or a formal complaint.

But as soon as they did, they acted.

Its the same with your guy, Rep. Michael Garcia (D-Aurora) assistant Democrat majority leader.  There were rumors for years, but no formal public complaints.

He publicly says basically ” My D–K, I like that in a woman.” While exposing the specimen, and you are outraged and he is gone.

I don’t think the folks in either party put up with blatant behavior like this.

            EXCEPT with Bill Clinton.

He gets a pass from your party that no one can justify.

            1.    There were five GOP Senators who voted with the 45 Dems to acquit on obstructing justice during the criminal investigation, and ten GOP Senators who joined all 45 Dems to acquit him on lying during the civil deposition, including the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination, John McCain.

Bill Clinton was indeed acquitted, but there were Republicans who joined Democrats in voting to do so!

              1. Politically speaking that would have been very bad for the GOP.

With Bill Clinton out, Al Gore would have been President in 2000. Gore was not tainted with the Clinton sleaze, and he would have been a popular incumbent after BC.

            2. But it’s a fact that the GOP leaders knew that he was a chicken hawk and kept it a secret. They could have been the ones to drum him out.

As to rumors about Garcia, well, if they aren’t admissible in a court of law then they aren’t admissible in reasoned debate either. Either put up or shut up about that.

As far as Clinton is concerned, you’d be surprised at how unpopular he and his wife are in many Dem/liberal corners. But most of us recognize that adultery between consenting adults is nowhere near as bad as political corruption (which harms all Americans) or preying upon minors. It’s bad, but since your side decided that Clinton must be impeached (either to justify the huge expense of the Whitehead fishing expedition, or because some wanted payback for Nixon) you left us little choice but to rally around him – and, incidentally, note that he had a very successful presidency, something that few of you can acknowledge.

        2. Or being creative with them?  🙂  🙂

I’m tempted to say that BC no doubt has excellent taste in cigars but that could open the door to a lot of gross double entendres.

Personally, a like a full bodied – uh, oh, here we go – maduro wrapped Honduran.

  2. Federal Chief Judge Nottingham hangs out at The Diamond Cabaret and [allegedly] spends time in his office one-handed internet surfing; our state reps & lobbyists hang out at the “Lancer Lounge;”  while I just bust my ass all day at work, then go home to my family, change a diaper or two and study to get through law school.

Am I missing all the fun?
