High Crimes, etc.

  • by: Barron X

.

In August, at the very latest, President Bush learns that Iran does not have a program to develop nuclear weapons.

In October, he warns that their nuclear weapons program could lead to WW III.

After he has already been told in August that there is no such program.

In December, Vice President Cheney loses a 9-month effort to suppress a new Intelligence Estimate declaring that Iran has no nuclear weapons program.

Who is looking out for the Republic ?

11 months ago, Denny Kucinich was considered to be a left-wing kook, arguing for impeachment.

But to overlook the events of the last 2 days, one must be a statist fascist to not see the value of at least convening a hearing to weigh the evidence.

Gosh, even neo-Nazi John Bolton has admitted that the hoax is over,

and that America-firsters like Condi & Gates have prevailed.

I’m not saying they must be convicted; the House must weigh the evidence.

But gee whiz, Ms. Pelosi,

you got Constitutional responsibilities here.

  1. The Dems don’t see any political value in defending the Constitution, and for them that’s the bottom line.  They figure if they can keep calling the Republicans names over the next 11 months without having to take any actions that may involve risk to their electoral chances, they will maintain control of the Congress and gain the White House.  It isn’t about what is right, or Constitutional,  it’s about gaining and keeping power.

One month ago, they could have held hearings on all of the alleged illegal activities on the part of the Bush administration.  The motion is languishing in the House Judiciary Committee, and it will stay there without any action.  After all, doing something involves risk, and that’s just not the Democratic Party way.

    1. It’s not the criminals, it’s the sherrif’s and judges at fault. After 6 years of no oversight and a profligate spending Republican controlled House, Senate and Presidency the Democrats take power a year ago and start legitimate oversight hearings (and take plenty of heat from the Republicans for…gasp…doing their jobs!… not to mention working (up until just recently) 5 days a week doing the country’s business, staunching the flow of red ink, along with passing many important pieces of legislation…..and it’s just political? I believe Pelosi has said we have work to do, and impeachment is off the table. I haven’t heard any Republicans say, “Thank You”…which would be an appropriate response.

I have a suggestion for the Republicans. It’s time for a lot of mea culpa’s, and time to start defining the values you’re going to start working for in this once great country….dragged way down on your watch….and get out of the bathroom stalls and corrupt private contractor business…

Or, wait till January 09 when, when we can arrest the criminals who had occupied the white house and mete out justice with less damage to an already damaged country (again, thanks the Republicans).

      1. sheriff’s and judges stand around and make comments on how them low-down owlhoots are ruining the country. And when asked when the outlaws are going to be brought to justice, they say, “Well not right now, maybe after the election.” you have to wonder how dedicated they are to enforcing the law.

Sir Robin you are constantly posting the “crimes” of the Bush administration but you now say that it’s not important enough to stop the criminals in their tracks.  They should be allowed to continue why?  Because it would give the Democratic Party more ammunition to campaign with?  Is that the view of a patriot who wants the high crimes to end, or a partisan who only cares that his side wins?

  2. What boggles my mind is that this is a page ripped right out from the playbook the Bush admin used for Iraq.  I don’t see how it could be any clearer than that.

Just for amusement, 2 headlines I saw this week:

    1) Iran not a nuclear threat

    2) Bush demands explanation from Iran

W’s pissed Iran isn’t playing the part right!  They’re SUPPOSED to be developing nukes and all sorts of fearful/aggressive/dangerous stuff, feverishly laboring away in some underground lab, you see, in their master plan for world domination, so we can invade them and save the republic.  Guess Ahmadinejad didn’t get the script. Sheesh.
