Illinois AFSCME backs Obama, Breaks for National Endorsement

  • by: ColObama

From the Southern Illinoisan

The Illinois chapter of the country’s major government-employees union broke with its national organization Saturday to endorse Barack Obama for president…

Bayer said Illinois AFSCME members have seen Obama stand up for working people over the past 20 years, first as a community organizer, then as a state legislator and now as a U.S. senator. Obama knows how to bridge partisan differences to get results, Bayer said.

Nationally AFSCME endorsed Hillary Clinton and with a lot of speculation and critism that AFSCME President McEntee acted alone.

I look forward to more endorsements to come.

To join the movement, head over to Colorado for Barack Obama and find an event near you. The campaign is hosting voter registration drives, caucus trainings, debate watching parties and other exciting events throughout the state.

  1. An Illinois union goes for Obama, the US Senator from Illinois? Amazing.

The sheer volume of BS posts from the Obama shills will end up diluting Barack Obama’s message. Give it a rest already.

    1. What is BS in this diary? I’m sorry this was so offensive to you, but to me it’s a pretty big deal, being someone who thought the AFSCME endorsement was misguided.

As for calling me a “shill” because I support Sen. Obama and post good news about his campaign is rather unfair. It’s not my fault the other campaigns do not have as much good news lately as Sen. Obama is enjoying.

      1. Without a “scientific” inquiry, IMHO his star is in the ascendency more than any other presidential candidate of either party. There is this:

I certainly wouldn’t be averse to an Obama presidency. I admit that I need to spend more time exploring his positions. Anyone with a signed copy of his book they’d like to “lend”?
