Colorado's Lautenberg

  • by: Colorado Pols

From State 38:

Rumors are spreading that Josh Lautenberg may run for the vacancy to replace Rep. Dan Gibbs after his coronation as Senator Gibbs…

…Josh is the son of New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg…

…Senator Lautenberg has been a lion in the Senate for decades.  If his son has the bug for public service, there’s a chance he might also rise to such heights.

  1. Name recognition being so important. This may be the breath of fresh air the Republicans need. I know nothing about him, but g-d they need a breath of fresh air.

  2. has some pretty big shoes for his son to fill.  If Josh is half the representative that his father has been, he will be a hell of a representative and we’re lucky to have him here in Colorado!

Incidentally, prior to getting into elective office, Frank Lautenberg was a founder of ADP, the company that cuts more payroll checks than any employer in the United States other than the Federal Government.

  3. Children rarely achieve what the parents accomplish.  Look at GWB, GHWB, Prescott.  I would offer that Joseph Kennedy was of higher ability/inteligence than Jack, Ted, or Bobby, even if less well known historically.

Nevertheless, I welcome the heritage of the Lautenbergs here in Colorado.
