    1. Peter Groff is a nice guy.

Abel Tapia is a nice guy.

Joan Fitz-Gerald is tough as nails, politically astute, willing to fight for progressive causes, a true leader but not really a nice person.

I think I’d rather have Joan in charge instead of two nice guys.

      1. It’s like Fraser’s agent’s line in the TV show. “I realized I had to choose between being a good person and being a good agent.”

Yep, I want effective in our leaders (at least the ones on our side).

      1. According to the Senate Dems press release, Williams was elected to serve as the “Assistant Caucus Chair,” not the Caucus Chair.  From the press release:

Senator Suzanne Williams (D-Aurora) was elected to serve as the Senate’s first Assistant Caucus Chair. The new leadership position was created to address the many policy initiatives in Colorado and to build bridges with other branches of state government.

    2. To Senate President Peter Groff and the Senate Democrats for making history once again. Groff is not only paving the way for future African-American leaders,  he’s also a great leader in the Senate who will preside with great honor.

        1. When we can stop seeing color or gender, only then are we free.  When I hear people say they support HC so that she can be the first woman president, I, I, I, well, get pissed off.  It’s the gender equivalent of racism.

I want the best man to win.  Er, woman.  Er, I mean….

        2. is exactly what Groff did. He made no reference to historical significance of his position. As I said, he’s a good leader. But we can’t be blind to reality or history.

          1. I think the operative word is “because.”  Don’t vote for Groff or Hillary or whomever “because.”  If they are the best person and they win elections, then we should smile.
