Giuliani Supports Collective Bargaining!

  • by: Go Blue

During a stop in California Tuesday, Republican Presidential Candidate Rudy Giuliani was asked his opinion on the Writers Guild of America strike.

I settled several difficult labor disputes when I was the mayor and the best way I did it was to not have much of an opinion on it and not get too involved in it and then to act as kind of a mediator. I think here we’ve got to let them work out the collective bargaining process, wish them well

He even offered to mediate.

“You know. It’s very unlikely, but if they needed my help, I’d be more than happy to help, as a fair-minded mediator. I can think of two big strikes in New York that I helped to settle, but I’m sure they have a lot of people that are willing to do that.”

And with that the ex-mayor of Gotham headed for Iowa and the Dakotas, and, presumably, a blissful escape from pesky questions about the Hollywood strike.

With the recent flak from a Union Busting Publisher and the Colorado Republicans, who cannot even back up their own claims but have no trouble misrepresenting the facts completely, at least Rudy can say he respects the workers rights.

    1. Rudy has the Napoleon Complex.

I find it amusing not a single Con has committed on this. I really would like their “justification” or excuses for Rudy’s union-love affair.

      1. I find it amusing that some on this blog claim to “want to understand liberal thinking.” Like understanding logic and fact is challenging! It’s a fundamental and puzzling phenomena considering current tension in America.

Personally, I think it’s all a purposeful distraction.
