"Truth, like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold."

The biggest environmental decision facing Obama you’ve never heard of….

If you want to get a sense of how contentious the decision is over whether the Obama administration is going to block a planned copper and gold mine near Bristol Bay, consider this: the Environmental Protection Agency has just decided to allow the public another month to weigh in on a scientific review of the project they released a year ago.
Most people aren’t aware of the fight over Bristol Bay, home to nearly half the world’s sockeye salmon. But it may be one of the most important environmental decisions the president faces in his second term.
I'm pulling for the sockeye salmon but I have no idea how to read the EPA. Anyone have a better read on the controversy.
Haven't quite got the handle on the new system. Guess I need to do more than drive by every now and then.
I haven't looked into it too much, but it is definitely a potential disaster sitting in the headwaters of the world's largest salmon fishery. The folks I know in Alaska oppose it, not surprising given the crowd I run with I suppose, but I think there is lots of local concern and push back.
I just figured out who the big surprise candidate to oppose Udall (you know, the one the Groper has been hinting about–nudge, nudge, wink, wink) will be. Rmoney wants to get back into politics!!!! Not actually living in the state where he's running never slowed him down before. I predict Rmoney for US Senator from Colorado by a (wait for it) landslide!
