First of all, open carry is illegal in Denver. I hope you're not encouraging anyone to break the law.
Second, last time I checked it was a constitutional right to peacefully protest. I hope that liberal Democrats of all people would respect that!
Conservatives I meet at protests, whether Obamacare or Second Amendment, are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. You would do well to not denigrate them, they are nothing like the Occupy nuts you know.

That's good of you to admit. Colorado Pols likes to portray all conservative protesters as evil crazy rednecks. Occupy Denver, OTOH? Just upstanding citizens with an unfortunate case of scabies…
I don't think this is a fair statement. I think Pols is pretty even-handed about it. Just because the leadership of many of these groups go over the top, it doesn't mean every individual associated with the protest is similarly outrageous. I believe Pols reflects this point of view.
There are certainly cases of left-wing extremists who are equally crazy…just not as many of them. And they don't usually pack heat.
They will always try to blame others simply for holding up a mirror to their lunacy, and they will always fail.

What ArapG is constantly surprised by is that what he perceives as the left isn't a mirror image of his lock step, group think, everyone on the other side hates America right.
He's been surprised so many times already this past month, I wonder if his eyebrows will ever dop down to their normal position. He's probably still getting over the fact that we don't all think Ward Churchill is a swell guy and great academic. He was surprised by sympathy unaccompanied by snark for a conservative GOP pol diagnosed with cancer.
Come to think of it, maybe his side is a lot worse than we think if he finds ordinary human decency, not to mention even a modicum fair mindedness, so stunningly surprising.

And you couldn't bring up Occupy Denver without throwing in a slur about scabies while omitting any mention of any policy they support and you don't. Once again, no wonder your opponents constantly surprise you simply by not being irrational, hysterical and childish.
The biggest danger will be the crossfire within the crowd when a hundred Barney Fife wannabees pull their (legal) concealed weapons on each other, in response to a nasty rumor that Secret Service agents are infiltrating the protest, having rubbed themselves down with beef jerky and Little Debbies in an attempt to blend in……
Personally, I wouldn't be within range of this protest at all. Pun very much intended.

How on earth do you not get a degree after 5 years? In Poli-Sci? I have degrees in Physics & Math and managed that in 5 years.
In the olden days at CU, the only major you could finish in four years was pol sci.
I believe the department advertised on that promise.
It took me a bit longer than 4 years for an economics degree, but I'll claim the military disruption card.

No wonder you think we're going to hang on to a majority middle class by steering everyone toward the right degrees, never mind a majority will never get anywhere near any kind of degree and you can't have a majority middle class without a numeric majority of people in it.
Do you have any idea how most people, outside of your privileged and apparently perfectly behaved little family and social circle live? Don't you know anyone who was a late bloomer, dropped in and out of school, partied too much, had to work too much to take full loads, changed majors too often?
I can understand your not personally knowing anybody from the majority who aren't anywhere near on track for college or any for whom just finishing High School is a challenging goal. After all we tend to hang out mainly with people like ourselves. But even in your privileged little world it's kind of amazing that you talk as if you don't know anybody with even one kid who isn't perfect and aren't even aware of people unlike those in your small corner of the world.
I've got a little news for you. Not finishing in 4 years is increasingly the norm for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's just that the courses needed to do so are in such high demand at a particular school at a particular time, a student can't schedule them all as needed to graduate without putting in some extra time. It's hardly unusual regardless of major. Maybe you should put some of that disdain you're dripping all over the place on hold.
