Readers of Colorado Pols knew about this back in November, but yesterday Democrat Cary Kennedy made her candidacy for State Treasurer official. From The Denver Post:
The Democratic author of Colorado’s Amendment 23, Cary Kennedy, entered the race for state treasurer Thursday.
She presents a sharp contrast to the Republican incumbent, Mark Hillman. A former Republican state senator appointed to the position last year by Gov. Bill Owens, Hillman also is running for election in November.
Once again, if it happens in Colorado politics, you heard it here first.

Of course, if it doesn’t happen in Colorado politics, you heard it here first too! Throw 100 rumors at the wall and two or three will stick.
Sharp contrast? That’s an understatement!
No better time for Cary to test the waters, Ref C passed and Amendment 23 is quite popular state wide – that’s a pretty good resume.
