Wilson leading in council race
By Ryan Morgan (Contact)
Boulder Daily Camera

With about 8,200 ballots counted as of 8 p.m., Ken Wilson still held a solid lead in the 14-way race to fill the vacant seat on the Boulder City Council.

Election officials said they don’t expect to see more than about 10,000 total ballots, and second-place candidate Matthew Appelbaum is trailing Wilson by more than 1,000 votes.

Here are the vote totals so far:

Ken Wilson 2,769

Matt Appelbaum 1,490

Angelique Espinoza 910

Eugene Pearson 475

Alan O’Hashi 461

Shawn Coleman 398

Philip Hernandez 366

Susan Peterson 329

Kathy Kramer 232

Philip Bradley 225

John Welsh 216

Tom Riley 171

Frank Zoldak 114

Eric Bodenstab 62

  1. not that I expected more than 10,000 people to vote…but still, how lame.

And will Eugene Pearson take his goofy curly hair and just do his job at BCAP instead of trying to run for city council?!?!

    1. Pure and simple…Ken was the chosen candidate of the current council as well.  Hell, Mark Ruzzin (da mayor) was his campaign treasurer.  What “political institution” there is in Boulder was solidly behind Ken.

But yeah, when only 10,000ish people vote, the machine that is Boulder politics just keeps on rolling. 😛
