Brother Doug, can you spare a grand? Abramoff-Tied Lawmaker Passes Hat to Pay Legal Bills

Doug Lamborn has some interesting connections to a Florida Congressman, Tom Feeney, who is tied to Jack Abramoff.

Tom Feeney endorsed Lamborn and, via Tom Feeney for Congress, donated a cool grand to Lamborn’s campaign in 2006 http://images.nictus… [See item “C” for the donation to Lamborn’s campaign.]  It is said Feeny also played a major role in getting other endorsements for Lamborn.

http://blogs.abcnews…
“Reportedly under scrutiny by federal prosecutors for his role in a 2003 Scottish golf trip paid for by disgraced former superlobbyist Jack Abramoff, a Florida congressman is starting a fundraising push to help cover his legal bills.

Rep. Tom Feeney, R-Fla., on Wednesday filed papers establishing a legal defense fund, to pay legal expenses “arising from Tom Feeney’s ongoing voluntary cooperation with inquiries” stemming from the federal investigation into the Abramoff scandal, Feeney spokeswoman Pepper Pennington told the Blotter on ABCNews.com.”

Looks like Lamborn is fitting in quite well with the “K Street” crowd and those with connections to Jack Ambramoff.  His July 11 “K Street” meet and greet with  K&L PRESTON GATES ELLIS LLP http://www.coloradop… the firm with historical roots deeply connected to Jack Abramoff and Steven Griles http://www.indianz.c…. says a great deal.

But, let’s get back to the topic.  Do you think if Lamborn’s ol’ buddy, Tom Feeney, asks Lamborn to remember that sweet little grand gift he made to Lamborn’s campaign, those sweet little endorsements, etc., do you think if Tommie boy asks for a grand back that Dougie boy will reciprocate?  I don’t know.  But, if Tommie can’t find Dougie, I can tell Tommie where Dougie is supposed to be at 8:30 AM, July 11, 2007. Just go to his meet and greet.  You’ll find him there.

  1. My Congressman should be reassured he won’t break any laws by doing so.  Seems that House rules allow such legal defense funds to accept contributions of up to $5,000, more than twice the limit for ordinary campaign contributions.

Go ahead, Doug.  Make the donation.  Then maybe Feeney and his wife will take Jeanie and you out for a few rounds of golf–you know, if you’re down in the Florida neighborhood anyway with the Club for Growth on another of those $4,005 trips!
