During debate on the Interior-Environment Appropriations Bill in the House, Lamborn introduced an amendment to completely eliminate funding for the National Endowment for the Arts.
I’m sure there are many ultra-conservatives that would love to see this funding cut, and maybe this is part of a strategy to beef up conservative credentials for the primary fight he’s sure to get, but even Colorado Springs is full of conservatives who support the arts.
Judging by the failure of his amendment by a vote of 97-335, the rest of Congress thinks he’s a nut-job too.
